[Non-guild, Gnome] The Tinker's Court
The Tinker's Court
Function
The Tinker's Court works to ensure that Gnomish interests are not overlooked in the grand picture of the Alliance, providing a forum in which the issues of Gnomes are brought into focus. Consisting of 5 Gearholders elected under two Supreme Gearholders, each with their specific responsability, the Tinker's Court is well equipped to handle any challenges it may face in the political arena of the Alliance, and the world.
Seats
The Tinker's Court consists of seven seats. Two Supreme Gearholders, charged with keeping the Court itself running, electing Gearholders, setting the protocol of Court meetings and all related tasks. Under the Supreme Gearholders are five Gearholders, each tasked with individual fields of responsability. These Gearholders work together to ensure that all parts of the Technocratic Republic of Gnomeregan remain stable and no individual interest of any gnome left unheard. Though their seats are specific in purpose, they all have some fields of responsability that overlaps, creating a need for a unified Court able to stand together in order to achieve maximum efficiency.

- Works with the Gearholder of Inventions and Exploration to coordinate possible expeditions and uncover artifacts of Gnomish origin so as to create a deeper understanding of Gnomish history
Each Gearholder is responsible for arranging events related to their seats to promote Gnomish RP and maintain a visible presence of Gnomes in the Alliance RP of Defias Brotherhood, providing an attractive RP scene for any and all who may wish to RP a law-abiding gnome of the Alliance. The Gearholders are ofcourse expected to commit to some degree of time investment in strengthening the Gnomish RP Scene and must keep up to date with the server so they are able to provide a constructive addition to the Server as a whole.
Electing the Court
Election as a Gearholder follows a very specific protocol to ensure stability within the Court and continuity with who represents it. In order for a Gearholder to be challenged for his seat, both of the Supreme Gearholders must unianimously agree that a replacement is in order, be it on their own accord or by wish of the other Gearholders. When challenging the seat of a Gearholder, each Supreme Gearholder will present one candidate that they see fit to replace the current Gearholder, after which the four remaining Gearholders will vote for who they believe is the most fitting to occupy the seat. In case of a tie with no votes to the challenged Gearholder, he will have the option of being the tie-breaker, effectively letting him choose who his successor shall be. However, unless a clear result in favour of replacing the Gearholder is reached, he is safe and can not be replaced(ie. If 2 Gearholders vote for one of the candidates and 2 vote for the challenged Gearholder, the challenged Gearholder still gets the tiebreaker and is free to vote for himself).
In the events that a Supreme Gearholder needs to be elected/replaced, any current Gearholders may stand up and proclaim interest in holding the seat. In this case, the remaining four Gearholders will vote for the gnome they see most fit to be a Supreme Gearholder. In case of a tie, the other Supreme Gearholder (who wasn't challenged) will function as the tiebreaker, deciding who will occupy the seat of Supreme Gearholder.
In the event that a Gearholder proves vacant for a prolonged period of time, any able bodied gnome may step forward and proclaim interest in the seat. The remaining Gearholders will then decide who recieves the seat. Supreme Gearholders may trump the vote if a tie emerges.
Contact
The Tinker's Court can be contacted on their bi-monthly meetings (held on the first and third friday of every month, starting on a date yet to be revealed) if the issue warrants the attention of the entire Court. Otherwise, they may be contacted in person or by letter. When presented with an issue related to the Court, the Gearholder will decide if the issue warrants the attention of the Court or if they can satisfactorily solve the issue on their own. Any decisions taken without the council of the Court must be reported to the remaining Gearholders on the next possible meeting so as to ensure that all Gearholders are up to date with the affairs of the Tinker's Court.
The United Technocratic Republics of Gnomeregan wrote:
"Every Gnomish enclave a republic, every republic part of the union" - High Tinker Felblaze
The Gnomish state is a federated republic consisting of a multitude of largely autonomous enclaves, referred to as technocratic republics, spread out all over the world(s). Gnomes value freedom above all else, the freedom to express their curiosity and themselves in whatever way they wish, and as such the state apparatus consists of only the bare minimum.
The Tinker's court exists to advice and assist the elected leader, the High Tinker, with the bureaucratic endeavors of the state, to protect, help and endorse the Gnomish people and values.
One of the few states in the world that do not hold claim over any territory, except for Gnomeregan itself, instead allowing it's people to live in foreign nations among their people. The Gnomish state promises, that wherever a Gnome may live or whomever he allies with, they will be there to assist should it be needed.

Re: [Non-guild, Gnome] The Tinker's Court
Do note, this is a heads up of what's to come: The Tinker Court isn't actively holding meetings yet, and I would like to have the remaining 3 seats (1 Supreme Gearholder, 1 Gearholder of Commerce & Relations + 1 Gearholder of Invention & Exploration) filled before we open this thing, so as to have a strong start as possible.
Contact me on Kavalis, Ixirar, Debri or Radvor if you are interested in holding a seat. We're planning to have the first meeting sometime in mid-to-late June.

While i'm considered a heretic for playing a Gnomish Stormwind Councillor, I still Role play a gnome and am ecstatic this institution is coming back. The Kingdom of Arathor will gladly send a representative to your meetings and I personally will attempt to attend all I can on Vezullia.

Re: [Non-guild, Gnome] The Tinker's Court
We have now only one open seat left, that of the second Supreme Gearholder, and I already have an interested applicant! Now is the final call for interested gnomes to apply for Gearholdership, for the Court will be full in just a few days, allowing for the official ceremony and opening of the Tinker's Court!
Things are going to be great!

Re: [Non-guild, Gnome] The Tinker's Court
I was an hour late. Had packing to do and thought the meeting was at 21:00, apologies.
I won't be on 'til the 22nd, but I'm sure to make the next meeting.
