Foreign affairs
A surprising scene could be seen in Stormwind this night, as well as heard. Luckily there wasn’t many people around these parts of the city and the guards fewer than ever because of the war effort. Lucky for some, not so lucky for others. “I swear! I swear it’s true!” Exclaimed what looked like a dock worker. There wasn’t much left of him by now, shirt thorn, eye black, leg bleeding. A miserable sight even by dock worker standards. Nothing much surprising in a dock worker being beaten for information really, what was surprising was the person who was beating the info out of him. White-purple skin, fair complexion, newly applied makeup, hair done neatly and a rather expensive gala gown. An elf in fact. Squatting over a half beaten man, in full dress up. Surprising it might have been for any onlookers. She tightened her grip around the unlucky fellows throat, enough to make him reconsider his words for a moment. It’s easy to spot people lying when you spend enough time with brawlers and bastards and it was this look she indeed spotted. She pulled him further up against the wall, revealing an increasing pool of blood underneath him. “Okay okay! There aren’t any extra this evening, there is on-” A finger was placed on his lips and a low hush. Puzzled, the man looked her in the eyes and then to his misfortune happened to look down. Down her cleavage that is. At first a grin, the loving kind, the kind that makes grown men skip a heartbeat or two and then a bone shattering jab to the jaw. Dislocated on the spot, the dock worker squirmed and screamed in pain. It was silenced quickly, by a young but firm hand gripping around the jaw’s owners throat again. She smiled at him, with that innocent but rather evil look only most Kaldorei can pull off, slowly letting go of her hold on him. Standing up she crossed her arms and moved her left leg forward, showing her long slender leg. Out of somewhere she pulled a tiny knife, not longer than a finger. The man was about to scream as he recognized the knife, but quickly decided against it considering what he knew they were used for. Opening letters for starters, but the various thugs had somehow found out that they were rather good for poking out eyes, removing nails and ears, and other nefarious things. Bending slightly forward once again the elf looked the man straight into his eyes and grinned. “I swea.. I swear it Miss” could be heard very very low from the beaten man. A small cough of blood leaving his mouth afterwards, hitting her finely crafted dress. And with an expression of what could have been sorrow the woman placed the point of the knife on the man’s forehead. Cold and harsh could only be used to describe her face. “plea..” Was all the worker could manage by now, tears mixing with blood on his face. For the second time this night something surprising happened. Instead of maiming, the knife was put away. Looking into his eyes there wasn’t much to see. Some hard years of work, the wrong shift and a lust for the excotic like all men. “Your dress Miss” is what he would have said if enough air had left his mouth, instead it was more like “Ders miss” with plenty of blood mixed in as well. And using his last efforts he managed to pull out a clean handkerchief from a pocket. With a disappointed look he closed his eyes. handkerchief still in hand. She stood there for a couple of seconds, admiring the dock worker before finally deciding what to do. She plucked the cloth lightly out of the man’s hand, looking at it and then on her dress. There wasn’t much, a single drop or two had despite her best intentions happened to find their way to the blue silk. Much less than what was currently on his face. With a careful touch she wiped the blood of the beaten and broken man’s face. She sighed and placed a short, but warm, kiss on his cheek. And thus she left. but not before coming back two steps down the cobbles.
“Don’t ever trust a woman when she cries” the note had said. It had been found in the morning along with a couple of gold coins wrapped in a blood soaked handkerchief.. And a dead dock worker.

((Something tells me that woman in the lovely dress is a total B to the H! I like her, about time we had an evil woman who is as lovely as she is deadly. Well done on your story, I enjoyed it Linn.))

(( Oh but there is more! I've been planing and writing (what I could) on this story since since the power got turned off here ))
A clicking of heels could be heard in the distance. Not the steady pace you might expect from a fine lady in a ballroom, but instead a rather odd tapping. This was simply because anything with a heel larger than half an inch is notoriously hard to walk in on cobble stones. It didn’t help much either that the person wearing them weren’t used to walking with this latest piece of fashion. They weren’t the biggest things in the world but since the canals of Stormwind hadn't been built with fashion in mind the clicking went on for a while, in it’s slow and not very steady pace. There wasn’t anyone on the streets this late, even the thugs and thieves have to call it a day at some point. A single short guardsmen stood point in front of the gate. No extra, just the o-.. Shame, reliable sources are hard to come by. He didn’t look like much. Most likely the rookie left out in the cold. He wasn’t even armed per say, just a lantern, what looked like the most dull sword this side of the maelstrom and a young mind. Just what was needed.
Almost waltzing around the corner and down the street the final few feet came what might have been the most surprising sight the guardsman had seen in his short life. An elf, young and pretty, with a blue silk gala dress torn into very revealing pieces and covered in blood. She had a grin on her face, a big one. Not the insane grin one might expect, but instead a smile that looked like her day had infact been just fine. He was about to say halt who goes there but really who asks that of a woman like that, either they were gonna kill you or they were gonna scream in terror at some monster of sorts. There wasn’t any monsters about. He checked by almost frantically looking from left to right. No monsters, that could only mean she ki- Wait.. Did she just wink at him? And before he knew it she had walked the few feet down the street. Carefully making sure the hips went wide enough, the silk flowed and fell the right way. There was an art in walking and you had to do it right even if you were covered in someone else’s blood. “You need help Miss?” Or that was at least what he was trying to say, instead the air just kinda vanished as his jaw slowly dropped.
Elves have a certain amazonian aura about them in that no matter how much they try and kill you or are covered in people bits from someone they have recently met and decided to turn the insides out on, they always have a certain erotic and excotic feel about them. All this while still coming across as wise.. And trying to kill you.
The guardsman almost exploded when she put a single finger on his chest. The sweet sigh she let out afterwards didn’t help either. Her towering height, looking down on him while still managing to look as innocent as one could be. “You don’t happen too..” She paused, looking like she thought very hard about what she was gonna say. “You don’t happen to know a place where I could sort this mess out would you? Sir?” Fluttering her eyes at him as she spoke the last word. What do you say to that? You just stammer. And that’s just what the poor young man did. “I’m sure you strong guards have a room in the barracks I could borrow?” She indicated with her other hand down her dress. It was in pretty bad shape really. Stepping forward just as the guard turned his head down to look he found his face dangerously close to her, and seeing as humans fit height wise in just about the chest on elves, in a rather odd position. At least the view wasn’t something to complain about. Staring straight ahead he slowly swallowed the lump that had been building up in his throat. “Perhaps I could use your own room to change in? I wouldn’t mind as long as you stood guard” With special emphasis on you, she moved her hand up to his chin as steered his gaze up to her eyes. With another swallow the guard somehow managed to squeeze out the tiniest of voices a “Yes Mam”. Almost sounding afraid he turned around on the spot and quickly marched off to the rooms the guards had been given to sleep in. Of course making sure every other step that she was still behind him and she just grinned or winked at him every time he did.
It turns out that passed out, and half naked, rookie guardsmen are surprisingly easy to fold and fit into closets. It had been way too easy and she’d even found where the armory was while looking for something to change into afterwards. Finding something to change into had also been easy seeing as the place she had sneaked into was in fact a rather large mansion, with a dinner going on. So there had been plenty of dresses to steal after having discarded the other one in front of the poor, or not so poor considering what he saw, guardsman. And with that behind her she stepped into the ballroom with a larger than life grin on her face.

Re: Foreign affairs
High fashion, the room screamed of high fashion. The current fashion, other than the bane of all cobblestones high heels, was carpets from Stranglethorn and Booty Bay. This room had them, it probably had more than the rest of Stormwind together. On the walls, people dressed in them, on the tables, hell there was even some on the floor. They had by most people been called hideous, and they were by most accounts made by goblin slaves, but they were also fashionable for some reason. In between the stacks of things there were called food but wasn’t and waiters carrying around champagne, was the high society of Stormwind. Not nobles, war hero’s or even just plain famous people, no it was in fact the major stockholders of various timber companies. It had taken weeks to figure out when and where it was. Dealing with goblins too much had made these people very, very paranoid, but not very rich. It was this that had forced them to meet here and it was this that had forced her to get inside.
The room was filled to the brink so it didn’t take long to mingle in with the crowd. There was various conversations going on about carpets, trees, the lack of trees, the price of trees, murder and how lovely it was to see this person or the other. All very interesting if you liked trees, but it wasn’t what she was here for. She was here for a single person, a single woman more precisely. The chairwoman of the biggest logging company in the eastern kingdoms. No she wasn’t here yet so some sneaky waiting had to be done, not that it would be hard with all the entertainment here. As long as she didn’t touch the champagne, there had been a nasty habit of being poison in that.
Waiting was dull and waiting with a bunch of fake aristocats was even worse than dull. It consisted of more only fake laughter at trivial conversations about trees or unimportant drama among the various stockholders. Any other day she would have sucked it all up like a sponge, there was way too many pieces of information that could be used here not to. But this target was more important than all of the rest in the room so she had to be patient and wait. She found a group of older gentlemen that was heatedly engaged in debate about wood sorts and decided to pretend be interested in the conversation. A rather simple task, look at whomever was speaking and nod.
“... I must disagree! Oak is clearly not cut for the job anymore! Pine is just what is needed for the it these days!”
“Have you gone mad Sir? Pine is just as bad as driftwood! If not Oak then at least Ceder!”
“Sales figures have shown Oak going down for weeks and Pine going up. It’s more than good enough for building and it’s what the people want!”
As intriguing as debates about wood might be the- There she was! Not hard to miss, but she had almost done it. You couldn’t miss such a stunning chairwoman even if you tried to. She was clearly from down south as her skin was an almost brown hue. Hair cut short, almost boyishly so but it fitted her for some reason. And finally she was dressed in the finest of orange silk. To be honest she had never seen a dress prettier than this and it had indeed done it’s job. Baffled by the beautiful woman she had forgotten to act and her target was now leaving the room. It was act now or lose her, perhaps for good. She looked around desperately for something to use. There was only the guests and waiters.. She quickly grabbed the nearest champagne glass and splashed it over her dress before quickly rushing after her target, while muttering something about people being rude and how expensive this dress had been loud enough for everyone to hear.
Following someone down straight hallways isn’t easy without being spotted, but she had managed it so far. It was just a matter of finding out where her targets office was, easier said than done in a mansion this large. But a tactic of waiting until the chairwoman had passed down a hallway and then running down to the next corner had worked. It had worked right up to the point where her target finally had entered a room and then decided to come out of it fairly quickly and walk back the way she came. Hide? No, she might be slim but not slim enough to hide between the boards. Fight? That would blow the cover. And before she’d made up her mind the chairwoman had already passed her down the hall. That went better than expected. She had been spotted but she was alive none the less.
At the end of the corridor there was 2 doors. Thankfully she had seen what door it was so that solved that problem. And the door wasn’t locked so it all went smooth. There wasn’t much time however, just find the documents and leave. The room was large and well decorated for a simple office. Even the horrible carpets had found their way in here. A large desk to work at, plenty of bookcases, storage cabinets and a globus. She immediately went for the cabinets, hurrying through all the documents. Nothing here and nothing of value in the desk either. Panic hit her, perhaps it wasn’t here, perhaps it was the wrong room. She quickly ran out and checked the other door. It was a closet full of brooms, so it had to be the office. She looked behind the carpets, under the globus and went through the cabinets a second time. Nothing. In her haste however she had forgotten the time. There couldn’t be much left and there wasn’t. Because from the side of the door muffled chat could be heard. In panic she jumped under the large desk and hid.
“It was a pleasure talking to you Sarah! I will talk to you tomorrow my love!” said a female voice as it opned the door. a pair of heels could be heard going down the hallway as the door closed behind who ever had entered. She was trapped in here with an unknown person, there was only one thing to do. Wait. Just as she thought this however the voice said in a soft tone “You can come out now Miss.” Perhaps not saying anything would convince the person she wasn’t here? “You see.. I have a closet across my office so I know why people go down this corridor.” Or maybe not. Slowly she got out from underneath the desk and looked at the newcomer. It was the chairwoman in all her glory. “Ah! Miss Moon! We have plenty of things to talk about you and I!” The owner of the room just stood there and smiled at her. A bone chillingly fake smile.
