and well, I think Joy Division were better than either The Cure or Depeche Mode. Violator and Disintegration are both amazing albums though. Disintegration may actually match any JD album, but the Cure released too much weak material other wise.

Don't forget New Order's (ex-Joy Division) amazing career after Ian Curtis' death, both quality and variety-wise!
