Right, i'l explain this idea as best i can, just bare withme as its very much still an idea/work in progress and very likely subject to change and modification.

I've noticed lately theres alot of people complaining about the staleness of roleplay in stormwind, around the cathedral, lack of bars, same old routines and Scenery. Not to mention The political stuff and current civic unrest.

So i had an idea. Why not Roleplay out in the country? In elwynn, Duskwood, Redridge and westfall?

My idea Basically involves creating smaller hubs all around the human regions where various family's, organisations, regiments, noble houses, merchents and the rest... Bandits, soldiers, knights, magi and traders... Can take their RP to the rural areas.

Perhaps spaced over days, or using one dedicated night a week and allowing for it to grow beyond that on other nights, i'd like to see noble houses out in their holdings, Taverns runnig in every town, Knights and soldiers on patrol, Regular rural markets moving from one town to the other as the weeks cycle on past. Theres likely even more stuff that not even popped into my head yet, But the opportunity for inter town relationships to form, family's to sprout up, and just better use of all that unused open space, buildings and scenery just seems like a no boner to me. its so under used!

So before i try and actually do anything, be it create an initiative or so forth, i'd like to hear any feedback the community has, or furthering ideas, or if anyone would like to colaborate and assist in this endeavour!

Thanks for yours, and give me all honest feedback!

The Disciples have already extended roleplay to Westbrook Garrison where we are visited frequently by a lot of random people! However for hubs to work there needs to be a need for them to go there, no use occupying an area where only a guild can use it and no-one else has the need for it.
Contested zones are a problem, well the problem is obvious due to ganking. I would like to see rp in westfall too but again, there has to be that need for people to go there.

I love the idea of a community out in the sticks, for example Redridge. But proper community. Set times for people to log on their certain character and have hours of nice roleplay.. So yes, I totally support this!

Aye, we need to rebuild the Duskwood RP hub... I miss that place. Perhaps the Gilneans should move down south after recent troubles with the Chapter? Afterall.. we are PERFECT for fighting off the Undead Hordes and the few wild worgen brothers...

House Mistmantle spends loads of time at the estate (Tower of Azora, Elwynn) and we get lots of visitors frequently with various errands, we also move out to collect taxes and such once in a while (not as much lately). I do however like that there are many people in Stormwind city rather then it being abandoned on account of smaller closed hubs where fewer has reason to go.

Stories will take people where it takes them. No need to senselessly force it. If you want to bring role play to a field somewhere, set up a story that brings people to that field.

Lovely idea. Elwynn was supposed to have a similar initiative last year I believe, though I'm sure what happened. The only problem with Redridge and Duskwood is the gankers.

Good initiative but I can foresee it if you decided to spread to Duskwood again...

Gilneas is a pretty stunning place to set up an rp hub and vastly underused - shame it's such a distance from the main Alliance cities.

Also sadly Arli won't be able to see you if you were there, I did the Silverpine quest chain with him and so the place is now phased out.

I'd rather see Redridge RP over Duskwood RP.
Redridge is much more 'normal' styled, whilst dusk wood always inspires these evil plots that most of the time are far too complicated for random role-players to bump into and participate in.

I'm sure the cartel will help in building a criminal atmosphere in Redridge. Underground Bar-fights. Owh yeh.

Some dammed good feed-back, I'l try and put up a post later with a condensed plan and some idea/position slots for possible different rolls folks can carry out initially.

Other than that, keep the reply's and votes coming!

People already RP out of Stormwind. A hell of a lot actually.. So your project is to take credit? Razz

EDIT: Actually, just to double up my point here. One of the reasons we did city RP was because of the massive amount of gankers that can spoil outside events. We've been branching out on Alliance over the last month and not to mention fought them back. Campers gank less nowadays and rp is fluent outside cities. I understand you want to encourage it more, but that is sort of common sense. Everyone does, that is why everyone naturally began to branch out again.

Good point, Vaell!

Role play in the realms of Stormwind is too mainstream. Only the cool kids are in Gilneas or Lordaeron.

Compared to Vanilla and TBC, they dont. infact, its about a tenth of what it was.

So your point is... out-dated? Either way, it can do no harm to give it a nudge and some encouragement, as you said.
