Letter to the Chapter of Anethion
To the Honorable followers of Anethion,
I am Sir Jean-Pierre d'Armagnac, Chaplain of Faith and Morale of the Disciples of Light. It is with regret, and my duty that I must inform you a breach of your laws, by the Disciples of Light.
Our patrol through the lands surrounding our dearest city, has taken us as far as Duskwood. However, in Duskwood we were engaged by a dark entity and his unyielding minions. We have fought them, forced them to retreat and I hope we have weakened them... But the battle has cost the reserves of our troops. To ensure their security, and to alert the Chapter of Anethion of this imminent threat, we decided to move to Duskwood well aware this was a breach in the understanding set between our Orders. We hope that the necessity enlightens our Brothers in the Light of the wisdom in this choice.
Most regrettably, upon arrival we found no guards posted by the Chapter of Anethion. We found the Nightwatch undermanned. We are confident that the Chapter did not abandon their town without reason, and only would have taken such risk if it were the wisest of all choices. However, upon finding the weakened defenses of Darkshire, we have taken it upon ourselves to assist the Nightwatch for the night. We hoped to find mutual benefit: a chance to gather our strength, while reinforcing the watch.
I have given the Disciples the right to leave and return to the City at first light of dawn. I shall remain, with any volunteers, in Darkshire to report to your officials established in Darkshire.
While this breach of the rules was for the benefit of all, it is not our choice to leave the laws set down by the Chapter broken and dismissed unaccounted for. Therefor I would like to request a meeting, so we may debate a suitable followup to this breach, and may inform you proper of our findings on our patrols.
May the Light forever guide your way.
Your Brother in the Light.
Sir Jean-Pierre d'Armagnac of the Disciples of Light

(A lawful religious man can not choose between law and religion. There is only one way to abide both: do what the religion and cause demands, and accept the consequences prescribed by law. At all times, being open and honest about your actions is the -right- way to act. "Neglecting to tell" when you breached an agreement is not a path available to a man devoted to Light and Law.
IE: Tirion accepted banishment, never surrendering his beliefs.)

(Yeah, you're being very reasonable with this JP. We'll organise a meeting and see where it takes us. I OOCly fully understand and agree why DoL remained behind. We won't be happy IC about it but we can't argue with cold hard facts and how cooperative DoL are on the matter.)

(Wel, I'll confess that part of the reason is that I'm tired of ignoring people's efforts in some regions. Anethion makes an event in DS. Running by DS and pretend they weren't there is just ... meh... It's not just a matter of IC respect, it's also OOC respect to a great guild running a demanding event. Reinforcing another's position is also a proven way to add substance to your own... So let's get crackin!)
