Proclamation from the Chapter of Holy Anethion regarding Darkshire, the cultist threat and corruption of the Night-Watch.
< This letter is sent to the officers of all Stormwind Holy orders, the guard regiment, the council and the King >
Hail Anethion, and may the Light guide and preserve.
While the pleas of Darkshire's populace may have fallen on deaf ears within Stormwind, either through negligence or a prioritisation of the other manifold problems His Majesty and his dutiful servants must deal with, the Chapter has not remained ignorant to the worsening state of Darkshire, the surrounding areas and it's law enforcers. For many months, 'the Cleric' Zerafias, or Andrek the Defiler has held a high position within the council of Darkshire, having an extremely corruptive influence on the Night Watch. The Chapter has encountered this corruption manifested in a number of ways, the most recent being their complete obliviousness to the Anethionean consecrated chapel being defiled by a unknown cultist organisation and the on-sight attacks of Anethionean's by death-knights and shadow-priests when entering Darkshire.
It is for the glory of the King's lands, the Holy-Light and the citizens of Darkshire that the Chapter and it's inquisition have managed to free Darkshire from the yoke of Andrek the Defiler; having him denounced by the council of Darkshire once they knew his tyrannical rule would not go unnoticed, the first step in combating the cultist presence in Duskwood. After much deliberation with the council of Darkshire, the second step is thus: the Chapter shall concentrate itself in Darkshire, having been granted the authority to purge the Night-Watch of all remaining corruptive influence and act as appointed guardians of Darkshire from the cultist threat. Following a model similar to that of Darkshire's previous Military Goverment, no cultist sympathy or disobedience will be tolerated while the Night-Watch's ranks are still being cleansed.
The cultist threat, as of now, is just a threat but we cannot allow this threat to fester, the people of Darkshire are desperate and without hope. We cannot allow this town to be dragged down into the depths of depravity it has been subject to for years, it is for this reason that the Chapter and Night-Watch must act with the up most vigilance against all activity deemed suspicious within and around Darkshire.
The Chapter shall, for the foreseeable future; while Darkshire is still beset by evils and heresy, remove its presence from Stormwind and Elwynn Forrest. However, a cloister of Anethionean Lectors shall remain in Northshire to continue acting as ministers for the faithful in the area and baptise those seeking conversion.
May the Prophet Anethion watch over you all,
Glory under the Light,
Glory under the King.

Quick question...who is this Prophet of whom you speak, and perhaps there may be some resistance to some bunch of inquisitors deciding to set up shop in the town that Stormwind abandoned *wink wink nudge nudge*

Anethion is the player-made prophet that preached the alternative, zealous interpretation of the Holy-Light the Chapter follows, and yes, there may be some resistance indeed.Grekthar wrote:Quick question...who is this Prophet of whom you speak, and perhaps there may be some resistance to some bunch of inquisitors deciding to set up shop in the town that Stormwind abandoned *wink wink nudge nudge*

Meh, from what I've seen on my worgen, you lot are all just nutters who need a good smack across the head.....however this cannot be done since you are currently hunting the Pack (last I heard when I was last on my worgen) for suspicion of raising some Soulblighter bloke and you have too much pull with the Council for me to get away with it...oh well, I'll just ambush lone members now and then when you're all in Duskwood

ICly it will be a different worgen than my actual worgen, just to give you guys an RP reason to go slaughtering the feral worgen mobs running around the woods Or maybe I'll just have had a loss of control of my feral self *plot starts to form (think jekyll/hyde)*
Not that I doubt you crazy zealots would need much reason other than we're hairy and not human....kinda makes me wonder how the dwarves have survived for so long with you guys xD

My head hurts. So many characters on my screen!
I wish I frapsed this one part when I and another went ahead to scout. Got ambushed by Coris and her two Death Knight's and was about to die. Drew my flintlock pistol and instead of turning to fire at my attacker shot into the sky and around 20+ Anethioneans, Disciples, Guardsmen and more came charging across the field. Turn and see my attackers fleeing. It was so magical.

Sounds like I missed quite an eventful night. Can somebody give me the short version? Nothing's more agititating then hearing a few friends talk about how "Awesome" a night was without going into any details, you know. "And the like, the thing you did at that time?" "Dude, that was positively gnarly!".

Re: Proclamation from the Chapter of Holy Anethion regarding Darkshire, the cultist threat and corruption of the Night-Watch.
After the knighting ceremony, the Chapter returned to Darkshire. Unbeknowst to us however, the regiment had launched an 'assault' of sorts on Raven Hill without consulting the Military Goverment and found themselves unprepared. A high-ranking officer (I think) and a few other guardsmen were held captive by the cultists who fled to a hidden location.
The Chapter managed to meet up with the guard regiment (who had manage to capture a cultist). The Inquisition along with a guard-medic took the cultist and interrogated him, while the Chapter's shadowbreakers and Vicar began to plan the next course of action with the guards and newly arrived Disciples. Tensions were high throughout as the Disciples had to adjust to being under the authority of the fanatical Chapter.
While the meeting was underway, the High-Inquisitor of the Chapter finished the interrogation and left the inquisitorial chambers to take part in the meeting, while the guard-medic was left with the captured cultist. She let him escape. Much to the dismay and fury of the Chapter, guards and to a lesser extent, Disciples. The Ebon Shroud popped around for no apparent reason at all and Greagoir sent Lexgrad away with his tail between his legs.
Throughout the night patrols were ambushed by roaming cultist death-knights, while the High-Inquisitor was given a morally grey, difficult proposal. An ex-Legion cultist worgen kept in the confinement by the Chapter suggested that he could track down the escaped cultist through means of dark magic. The High-Inquisitor allowed it to be undertaken, much to the frustration of Greagoir.
The ritual provided vague results, all that was known is that the escaped went west. While the next move was deliberated upon, some Disciples returned to Darkshrie with a mute cultist death-knight. In the rush to hunt down remaining cultists, and unable to make the death-knight speak, the High-Inquisitor 'executed' the death-knight on the spot. Shooting him in the chest. A Disciple, Ishap, then began to assault the High-Inquisitor, it was broken up before much harm could be done to either sides. But the Disciples earned themselves outlaw status from the town of Darkshire while the assault against the Vortex cult is underway.
After this, the Chapter and guards managed to find a wandering Draenei seer that could further expand upon the worgen's rituals and trace the location of the cultist. It led to a farm opposite raven hill where the Chapter, Disciple and Guards amassed. The High-Inquisitor and a guard-scout scouted ahead to a run down farm where they were assaulted by death-knights, the High-Inquisitor fired a warning shot into the air to alert the forces and a big battle ensued, but the cultists were outnumbered. The heresiarch managed to escape, as did one of her death-knight lackies, but a Chapter shadowbreaker managed to capture the other death-knight and bring him back to Darkshire. He has yet to be interrogated but all know there is only one fate for him in the Chapter's eyes.
The Chapter and guards remain in Darkshire, planning the final assault againt the Vortex cult to rid Duskwood of their presence.
(yeah... a bit detailed for a synopsis.. but oh well )

Still a very enjoyable read, thanks for sharing! Documenting developments that may be important for roleplay can never be a bad thing, anyhow.
