RP gear and W-pvp, a possibility...

By doing this you remove the entire fact of being unique and have your own roleplaying gear, which you use everyday when roleplaying, and for most, use in war!

If everyone started to run about in the same armour in battle but not otherwise, JUST TO THINK ABOUT GAME-MECHANICS, WHICH IS OOC, it would ruin everything.

I say the current RP-gear WPvP DRS, Chapter, Cult (The ones I know.) works perfectly fine. Keep it at what these guilds are doing, I say!

well as i said, i myself will stick to what i have always done, and thats wear the best what i have, and use it to the full Extent.

however, what irritates me is people mooching around in rp gear... dilly dallying around all civilian style, -whining- when someone in pvp gear (full battle armour) comes and kicks their behins!

"that's not fair! we was in rp gear!!" - yes... and it was a suprise attack, you was ill prepared, comes with taking armour off, weakness. war isnt fair ya know?

"pvp gear is ooc becuase that's not what your character would wear!" - well blizzard made it, blizzard implemented it, i got it. it must be IC, becuase i am wearing it in the game and universe they created.

and other such whiney annoying whispers from alt's who dont like the fact they cant blue shield in some regions. but yes, huzzah for pvp gear in pvp!

Im confused how is it ooc if everyone looks the same makeing it look more like an army? personally myself I wouldnt mind gettting the old school pvp set for the event but the problem is balance for certain class's/specs and people actually wanting to grind for it. For example the paladin grandmarshal set for a ret pally is shocking, due to new talents and stuff.

Veia, there could be events with RP gear used to equal the forces/damage/chances but lets face it almost everyone prefers to use PvP gear and test their abilities in the field when fighting the enemy, like in a real combat situation.

Veia, I refered to doing this simply because of ooc matters, the stats. Is ooc.



As for krogon using his oh so mighty "battle armour" you don't use it ICly as I can recall. So shoving that gear on just to gank someone, is just the same as being in "non-armoured" rp gear saying they were not prepared.

I for one have IC-armour, and that is not my best, because the best is not related to roleplay for me. I don't need ooc-stats to improve my IC ego.

I certainly support the idea, but the main issues are that technically any Tom, Dick, or Harry can slap on some Tier 9 and claim it's their Arrpee set. Secondly, there will always be those couple of change into PvP gear during say...a inital charge, and then quickly change back after combat which results in much flaming, and forum threads.

Fien, ignore the top half. I was half-alseep (Yes, oldest excuse in the known world) with a headache when I skim read it.

RP-PvP: You have a battle in RP-gear. What to consider as RP gear however might not be what other is thinking about it, so check it up before joining. Dwarves in the DRS use NPC looking gear as much as possible, like mountaineers or IF guards. Check your races and classes, and what you can do to get some NPC looks. An army of orgrimmar guards or silvermoon guards would look equally cool I think.

W-PvP: You battle in real gear. PvE-, PvP-, RP-gear, all can be had. No matter what you choose, it is fun to duke it out in force... until lag hits.

Simple as that. Anything else?

Low level RP gear on both sides makes it more fun to PvP for one reason -- besides more immersion: no one dies insanely fast without resilience (low level weapons included).

Ironically, low level RP gear doesn't work for one reason too: most people want to feel speshul (AKA amagad powerful) and would rather be able to say that they powned a bunch of noobs -- blatantly put -- than that the fight was interesting and realistic (as far as realism goes in a fantasy game). This is the main reason why I choose not to wear RP gear in RP-PvP. It lowers my chances of being in battle longer than ten seconds too significantly.

No offense to anyone, though.

Horseman outfit , hoo \o/

The most immersive and Roleplay'ish, is to when the fights are settled with people in respective RP uniforms, or all looking individual and unique. Instead of elitists or prideful nitwits plunging on their best attire and go by any means nessecary to ensure a victory.

Heck I'll kick yer arses in me Horseman, Plaguedoctor & Forsaken Knight atire,s and Dedicated Roleplaying Specc!

RP gear battles should only occur when both sides are up for it or have planned it, otherwise it should be assumed pvp gear is allowed and therefore no reason to whine.

Although no-one should be forced into what gear they use, even in a PvP gear battle I'd rather use my Mountaineer uniform

I voted no, but that was because the vote was for the idea of fighting in lvl 60 gear, not fighting in rp gear. In fact, I love the idea of fighting in rp gear.
If you have an rp battle between factions, we really should try to reach what we try to reach in normal rp too: not to get to the end of the story asap, but to make the story itself as entertaining itself. While pvp in pvp gear can be a lot of fun, it's mostly made to get to the end (the death of your opponent) as soon as possible. Imho, we should try to have our wpvp not about killing each other, but fighting each other in the most realistic and entertaining way whenever possible. The best way I see it is by battling in rp gear, using only basic spells and autoattacks, not trying to kill your opponent but to have a good fight where there is place not just for skills but also for rp, for tactical movements and fighting in lines. This way, balance won't be such a delicate thing either.
We mustn't forget that this is really hard to enforce though, whenever doing this, contact should be kept between sides at all times, and guild officers must watch their members well, we can't have one of them quietly putting on his pvp gear and ganking everyone.

My RP set is my PvP set..I RP an elite soldier, so there!

People have asked me to get a decicated RP uniform. So Far i have a robe and hood with
all trinkets, daggers etc removed..I don't like it but I've been asked to get it!

I want full bloodfang for my RP set..but i'll still wear my PvP set outside of cities..ish.

So yeah.
This is my RP Set.
There are many like it, but this one is mine.
My RP Set is my best friend. It is my life.

I'm sorry but out of principle I will never accept having anything to do with any "gearscore", be it for PvE, PvP or RP.

Gearscore can kiss my ***! It is the looks (of the RP gear) that are important, not the damn points.

Most of the time RP happen to be lvl 70-20 gear.
I when wpvping against cult on my human, use my all day rp gear.
I have gotten the impression, though. That if you use level 80(ish) weapons, (as a melee) you are to remove trinkets,rings,necklace. But with a low level one, you may keep them.

Nonetheless, rp-gear wpvp with Cult always turns out great from my experience <3
