Talondeep Path

“Some can hide. Their bodies, their minds, even their scent. We call these cowards, and the cowards be elves. In the shadows, in the trees they wait ever patient for millennia protecting the forests that they stole, to the death. It is these treacherous scum, my brothers and sisters, that are to die slow, painful death. It is these, that the Emperor has deemed to extinction.”

As the small band of Trolls ventured outwards from Malaka'jin, something was afoot in the wilds. Rir'rae perched upon her raptor instructed to follow the band, had her mind outwards in what can only be described as the Shadow realm, Hir'eek bestowed upon her as a result of her sacrifice of her physical sight. Her task was to keep an eye out for any enemy mental activity, as she had a firmer grasp on what was going on around her than anyone with working eye's. Her fellow Gurubashi had decided to travel northward, to the Talondeep Path, not that any of them knew where it led. Silent as a group of mice, the tabardless Troll's took every step with careful grace observing the area for future reference. Entering the cavern Rir'rae slipped off her raptor, mentally telling it to stay hidden and safe this side of the cave, with the fellow Gurubashi minds to follow and her stave she managed to trip only twice as they slowly excavated the cave.

“I can sense...Billions of insects...”, the only companions to the Trolls presence inside Talondeep but it had to be done, with the warfare that was to follow in the coming weeks. The Empire needed as much information on the area as they possibly know to outsmart the dark-skinned elves, years they've spent in these lands it was an obvious disadvantage for the Empire's troops.

Smile's grew on every trolls face as the forest of Ashenvale revealed itself to the travellers, even Rir'rae could tell of the discovery from the other Troll's implied thoughts brimming on the tip of their conscience. Edging outwards towards the river, one of Rir'rae's brethren went straight for the waters to wet his aching throat whilst the rest took a rather relaxed pose in the great forest, sitting, talking, swimming. Relaxing was the biggest mistake.

Even with Rir'rae's sight no one saw it coming, the elf from the wilderness hiding even it's mind from the travelling band. Incapacitating one of the male troll, the presumed male elf danced around the Gurubashi with even it's daggers glint hidden from the naked eye. With a whistle, Shir'vallah's Hunters called their pets out to battle, with superior scent and rage the elf, now known to be female, was maimed into sight! It's concentration broken, even Rir'rae could easily smell it, but as she reared her head the elf was knocked out on the forest floor, disarmed with a group of hungry trolls surrounding it, tongues already licking lips.

If it wasn't for Rir'rae the Gurubashi would have simply feasted on the sweet flesh and be done with it, however she had much more malicious ideas in mind...”Brethren! Feast upon it's sweet nectar until it's drained! No flesh, only blood!”, to weaken the elf beyond escaping. With hands all over the elven body, cuts were made, gashes were bitten open and the blood was savoured by the vicious troll's. “Now! Poison the bloodstream, make sure to leave it aching from the inside!”, as the Oath-bearer of the group spoke to his Spider companions, allowing them to feast upon the blood just like the Trolls did leaving the wounds infected and poisoned. “Finally, break one of it's arms!”, even if it mustered the energy to escape retaliation to attack would be impossible. The biggest one of the pack, took the elf into it's grasp throwing it downhill like a rag doll, eventually after physical torture the arm was broken and the snap echoed throughout the forest making the wildlife bolt from the scene. “Good...good, now stand back”, as the Gurubashi stood back wearily watching Rir'rae's every move with caution, alas it wasn't the physical movements they'd have to watch. “STAND! ELF!”, that was the first command as Rir'rae successfully infiltrated the elf's mind controlling it, forcing it to stand up regardless of the physical pain it no doubt caused her. Muttering to Hir'eek, Loa of the Mind, Rir'rae systematically corrupted and destroyed every memory regarding the trolls, their faces, their words, their outfits, there was no way that she'd ever tell of the trollish presence in the sacred forest, they were still hidden. Sending out a physic scream rendering even the Gurubashi frightened of the Shadowpriestess, Rir'rae watched as the elf fled from the location it's broken bones forced into movement until the hold faded and it fell unconscious on a nearby rock.

“Now, my fellow Gurubashi! The Dark will be in even more disarray, the Pink-skinned battling them from within the forest! Us, picking them off unaware! They will be crushed! They will be afraid and that fearing flesh shall feed our never ending hunger! In the name of the Emperor-God, let us return to Malaka'jin and tell stories of our success here, for the Empire's grasp is growing!”
