Seriously, compared to the awesome Ventress vs. Dooku episodes in season 3, it was just cringe-worthy.
I think the creators either got more comfortable with what they're making, or someone up top loosened the reigns somewhere around season 2.
In Season 1, you had hearty child-friendly morals, "funny" one-liners ("Eat laser!") and laughably oversimplified lore (What do you call a race of Lemur-like sentients? Lurmen!), but come season 2, suddenly there's Clone Troopers torching other living, thinking creatures alive with goddamn flamethrowers, screaming and flailing while the Troopers - and their Jedi Commander - just watch 'em burn.
I don't think Season 4 is canned, it's just in production. CGI series take a long time to make after all, especially whenever you produce a new model (they've given many established characters significant graphical overhauls to boot!). You can poke around plot synopses (synopsii?) on Wookieepedia etc.

Okay.
I now officially really dislike the Light/Dark system as can be in a game.
It's really nice in flavour but so horribly implemented.
Why? Because you need to go down one tree fully to access the best gear, at least from what I've seen by level 34.
"Want this new weapon upgrade? To bad! Not enough light or darkside points!"
So, they have this awesome story tool, but forces you through gameplay means to not use it as your character would. Playing a pragmatic sith who will spare people when it's usefull for the Empire rather than just kill everything, for example. Has me quite a way from really all that deep down the dark tree. But yaaaay...
I could rant more. But I'm not going to.
I'll just say that imo, from what I've seen, Bioware failed to implement the Light/dark system very well.

yeah I do kinda agree with that myself im also baffled by the fact that the non sith classes can be affected by the force and gain the red eyes and tainted skin from going dark.. that to thow is realy only a visual thing seems.. odd to me..

That's actually incorrect, fortunately. The Dark/Light gear is limited to a few leveling Blues including Relics, and cosmetic items (Pets and Speeders).
The Dark/Light restrictions on other gear are strictly referring to the colour crystal which can always be switched out, and functions as thus;
Green and Blue crystals are Forbidden to Dark players, but you don't need a Light rank to have them. Red crystals are Forbidden to Light players, but you don't need a Dark rank to have them. Furthermore, Yellow and Orange (As well as a few other lategame) crystals do not have any restrictions and can be used by any player and have the same stats per type.
While leveling, Datacron Relics are not tied to the Alignment system (But they require some annoying Datacron exploration) and after you've finished leveling there are blue and epic level 50 Relics with no requirements either.
I haven't seen any other gear with Light/Dark requirements and never had any sort of problem with gear being restricted for my use, if I've missed something obvious could you maybe provide a screenshot?

Well, when leveling. Half of the commondation gear I've seen... if not more, now when I've a bit above 30 seem's to have a dark or light III req. Thankfully not the mods.

That's strange, all the Commendation gear I've seen is either nonaligned or is limited to "No Dark"/"No Light" in the case of Lightsabers. Do you have any specific examples I could check out? This seems rather really odd to me now...

For me, it seemed to be basicly all commendation gear on Taris. At least the orange pieces and some of the blues.

Re: Anybody else in here looking to try SW TOR when it hits?
Overall, the game was fun to level (although the stories drag after 30, due to the levelling getting slower so intervals between main story were LONG) but end game was a little boring. Raiding too easy due to its easy mode setting.
PvP was good for a while; the whole trophy system needs to be implimented in more MMOs, it really made you work as a team for your own benefit.

Lorewise, a non-force sensitive can obtain visual affliction when being around the corruption of the Dark side too often.
As for the light/dark rewards, I am not suffering from the same. I have a lvl 47 character, making my own choices hence being very much into the whole grey zone.
End game content is minimal, yes, the game has been out for only 3 months if I can at all call it that. It already holds a lot more content then any other MMO has before in their launch period and the speed and detail at which their devellopment team is working is amazing. ^^

Still not near endgame. Yet I find the questing to be sad.
Because for me it only feels like a Bioware RPG you can play with other people. Yet in the end the storylines and such are really rigid.
For a game that had so much potential and really storybased. I can't see myself leveling another character of the same class ever really. Since I'd know the storyline.
Yes, I could do it with sublte differences in my voices and what I do. But in essence I'll know the full questline.

Yeah and to be honest, the planets felt limited. Too many loading screens, too closed off. It is tough to level an alt in SWTOR, I got to 25 and got bored on my BH.Muzjhath wrote:Still not near endgame. Yet I find the questing to be sad.

Re: Anybody else in here looking to try SW TOR when it hits?
Again, I'll go against both statements. I am loving the lvling of alts. And how does knowing the questline differ from any other MMO? At least this has class specific quests with an array of choices.
Ofcourse it feels like a BioWare RPG, it is made by Bioware. And it's an MMORPG! xD
Planets aren't limited. They are vast and wide, with little to no loading screens other then the traveling between them, with bountiful clear area's for the use of RP aswell as ingenious questing zones and instances parts with additional story and/or challenges.
I believe it's a matter of taste. If you're one to rush final lvl and get gear, you'll be thoroughly dissapointed. If you're on to take your time, explore as much as you can before moving on, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I don't think you have a choice with exploration. There isn't a wide variety of quest chains, each time it is the exact same ones. In fact, you'll find yourself being underlevelled more than overwhelmed with places to go.
Sith Inquisitor storyline was great till 30, then shite. They went down the wrong path with it.

you are underleveld if you do quest classes only.. If you do all quests money gear and your level will not be a problem

That must have changed then, because on release you had to do every single quest - including ALL group ones - to be at the best form of levelling.

Well, leveling of alts of a different class. No problem. But for example I'd love to see how one of your companions act in the Sith Warrior story if you do a difference choise when you get it. But, I am quite certain I never want to play a nother sith warror for that long. The questing of the story quest would be to boring.Nathaniel wrote:Again, I'll go against both statements. As for the "to many loading screens" on planet no. On planet is really nice. But shifting between planets is just annoying. "from ship, from hangar, out of spaceport" on the smoother planets. The more annoying planets "From ship, from hangar, from orbital platform, shuttle down. With some bigger loadings on each.
it gets sorta annoying xD

Stopped playing since the game was quite dull and slow. I got bored and started to slowly become inactive. In the end, I wasn't even online once every three days. I didn't feel like it was worth the monthly sub.

I just saw a TV commercial for SWTOR.
And damn that was a piece of shit thing. No gameplay footage at all and some small quotes from people who didn't really know what they were thinking off.
"Game changing", Hah.
Still, game commercials that only show cutscen footage I will never endorse. At all.

90% of game commercials show only cutscene footage.

Re: Anybody else in here looking to try SW TOR when it hits?
Due to my recent tiring of WoW, I've ended up subbing to SWTOR, and I must say I'm enjoying it more than I expected, though I've barely covered anything in the game, being only Level 12 currently. I have searched about for RP, and, despite being on an RP server, there seems to be none about. Anyone know about any servers that actually -do- have RP on, or am I just being unlucky?
I'm playing Velynia, a Jedi Knight on Trask Ulgo currently. I believe that's the server name, but I'm slightly unsure, and unable to get on SWTOR for the moment.
