Re: How do I treat enemy faction players?
After leveling an alliance for a total of 3 days. ( Yay she's level 56!. ) on the second day, around the 30-40s. I was ganked, by SO, SO MANY people. and I'm not talking a stab, and a single corpse run. I mean, I had to get guildies to keep them off me, guard me whilst I was questing. Non of these fights were provoked and i've noticed, when a guildie would do alittle justice for me, and put the baddies in their place I'd get an un-usual amount of harassment for " getting higher levels. " I mean come on, is it really that much different.
c'mon it's hardly fair game if I'm trying to flee and your not giveing me a choice in the matter. (She's a fire mage, if you were wondering why I avoided fighting back.)

To be fair, we only killed you once and left you! And by we, I mean Trave. I didn't see how it was necessary to have that stupid level 85 come gank me while I was sitting on a boat making tea. I was completely innocent!

Let's not derail the thread about any specific incidents, shall we? Perhaps if there is a disagreement of this kind, it should be taken in private.
And Vect, I know exactly what you're saying - only I know it the other way around. Levelled both horde and alliance for a long time, and it was the alliance I've seen like this, occasionally. It happens, really. It's not a faction trait. Kids go back and forth across both sides, it's not something you can condemn either for.

Once? xD?
I got killed twice by the mage and then once again by themat's hunter >.> Do you realise how long that bloodly corpse run was? I didn't even get a chance to ice block on any of those kills.
But, yeah won't derail my original post was a general dislike of gankers! That incident was a one rice flake in the bowl!

Re: How do I treat enemy faction players?
Maybe I'm an old breed in this... I never played a game before WoW where the concept of balance and moderation even existed. Ganking, overpowering or using every down low tactic you could find was the default. Welcome to a PvP realm!
In a PvP realm you are exposed to every jerk. You'll be killed by the cheapest and dirtiest tricks. You'll be abused by such low lives for their cheap thrill so they can masturbate their ego on how awesome they are according to their own theories of self proclaimed righteousness. You want your own ideal of "justice" to prevail? Grow tougher and kill them back.
Pardon the language.

Re: How do I treat enemy faction players?
Less robe-twiddling priest, more crazy haired spitting preacher today.
Personally I will attack stuff if I wish to. Let it go if I don't. I don't always see my characters as "in an area IC" and as such I don't always stick to "their" views with regards an area. I am the player, not the character! *twitch*
I often die as an answer to my headlong charges, or mistimed attacks. But that happens. So does ganking, CCing and general arsehattery. I move on if I'm CCd, log another character, make a cup of tea, do something else. If I'm ganked I may hunt back, but to be honest, it'd all too often be like trying to solo a PVE raid boss, pointless and silly.
So better to walk away and get that cuppa. And attack again, another time.
Like 90% of the game, PVP is something I can "switch" into, or out of, if I wish. That's the glory of a game, innit, the ability to do the bits you want, for fun...

Re: How do I treat enemy faction players?
I have a love for PVP, it's just like most things. I have a dislike for people who grief, same for tanks who refuse to hold aggro or healers who won't heal a certain invidual due to disagreement, heck even for people who cut in queues! Yes, I'm buying all the hot dogs.
I whispered one guy why he was ganking me on his level ?? to my at the time 22 worgen mage, " I h8 ally help u by ganking " FUFUFUFUF.

Re: How do I treat enemy faction players?
Depends on the situation, mate. If someone's a jerk to me, they can very much expect the same; not out of "punishment", but because they put themselves in the "playtoy" category and I switch off the caring mode. If you are a mage who sees the tank afk and charges a group of mobs that will will you... guess what. They will kill you while I'm rolling a smoke, because you just made my priorities shift ^^ If you want me to be a proper tank/healer, be a proper dps'er in return. Reap what you sow. ^^ (And ofc I agree with you, in situations said behaviour was not provoked, but a default Being an ass is not a dps-exclusive trait.)Emberstone/Vectoria wrote:tanks who refuse to hold aggro or healers who won't heal a certain invidual due to disagreement,
