Concerned I have hidden MalWare..
Right, so I was flicking through some WoW Artwork on Google and one I clicked on suddenly went white. I was dubious over hacking 'sites (I know some use the images can lead to them) so I immediately closed it, however quickly enough an unclickable 'Installing Security Update' message came on and began to install a "Windows Security" 'Update' in My Computer - I know this is probably MalWare but MalWare Bytes, McAfee nor Aviera is picking up any virtus, trogans or MaLWare when I perform a scan - I've done this without internet, with the internet disconnected, restarted, etc.
Any ideas?

well, run a full scan while connected to the net one after the other as they can conflict, if that pulls nothing up then not sure what you can do if it is malware, but it could of always just been a windows security update we can hope so anyway. good luck man

Ah no i think I know this there is actualy a new virus going around at the moment, it did this not only to my frend but his frends pc too,.. it ended up in a reinstall for him thow
some antiviruses allow you to do a virus scan in boot time.... check to see if your scanner has any startup scan or bootup scan,... if those options fail I use a program called spybot serch and distroy,.. that usualy takes care of keylogers and the like,... if all of those fail and your pc keeps playing up,..
back up your favorate files/wow then get out your windows cd for re install

Try starting the pc in failsafe and then running any anti-virus software you've got

might not work as if the virus gets into the win32 files as is what i suspect has happend then even in failsafe it will still be there as it is in windows files,.... still try anyway as i may be wrong there
