About the city of Stormwind, posters start to spring up, pinned outside bars, along the canals, by barracks and shops and handed out in the streets;

[A] Blades for Hire 634345794126126109

At the same time, a few selected individuals receive handwritten cards, in sealed envelopes, bearing the following message:

Greetings,
I would like to extend to you an offer, we are a mercenary company by the name of Blades for Hire.
We offer our services, such as they are, to you, if you would like to know more simply pop into the Pig & Whistle from time to time.

The blades are an elite group of mercenaries who take pride in their work and their martial prowess.
If you choose to hire us, you will not be disappointed.

[A] Blades for Hire Who10

We do more or less exactly what our name suggests, we're a bunch of mercenaries looking to make money and get by. We have no particular political agenda and will take on all manner of jobs (if the pay's right).

[A] Blades for Hire Ranks10

Ranks follow a roughly military setup, as follows:

  • Cadet - lowest rank, fresh recruits, should be considered as a trial period for freshly-joined members.
  • Soldier- Cadets that have proved their worth in some way, and make up the main bulk of the company.
  • Veterans- Soldiers that have repeatedly proven their diligence, hard work, and dedication to the Blades, come to many jobs, etc. Have authority over cadets and soldiers in the absence of officers.
  • Leitenant- Assistant officers, usually working directly with a Captain to help train and moniter people falling under certain specialisations.
  • Captain- Leaders in certain specialisations. Current Captains with their specialisations:

    Cendia: Arcane arts, in charge of all magic users

    Remai: Explosives, first aid, and various administrative duties. Also recruitment.

    Bruron: Frontline soldiers and melee combatants

    Solissa: Healers and medics

    Humphry: Assassination & the use of poisons

    Kittrina: Espionage & Intelligence Gathering

  • Commander- The GM, and highest ranking officer.

The Blades for Hire are a band of highly trained, morally grey mercenaries!

We run regular open community events such as the King of the Steel Boot, but are also always up for involvement or assistance in other events where you might need extra numbers. Examples being:

  • A guard guild calling in extra help to crack down on a crimewave
  • A criminal guild needing a few extra bodies to do their 'debt collecting' or 'tolls'.
  • A Noble throwing a classy party...and wanting some guards to keep out the pesky lower class elements.
  • Two guilds come to war and need some hired help to swing the numbers their way
  • An expedition requiring well-trained escorts
  • A paranoid Gnomish inventor hiring a subtle investigator to keep an eye on...and sabotage his rival's work
  • etc!

We are committed to keeping a high quality of RP, a friendly ooc atmosphere, and keeping things reasonable and realistic. We maintain a Three Strikes and You're Out rule for significant ooc or IC breaches of our rules, and if you ever do have a serious problem with a guild member, please take a screenshot if possible of the event in question and send it over to the officers mentioned below so we can resolved things to the satisfacction of all involved.

Ledgic- like I said, with regards to the pig, when you want to use it again, we're more than happy to step back and make some IC deal for just using/being based in it certain nights for recruitment. We certainly don't want to step on any toes or 'claim' anything when empty-ish bars are now in such short supply, at the moment it's just very convenient front/startup.

Tonight was great fun, thanks to all who came along! And see some of the Cartel people on the Fight Night!

I'd like to sincerely thank everyone who's hired us so far, we've had an incredible response and it's been some of the most varied/amusing/diverse roleplay I've had since coming to the server. The range of things people have hired us for is brilliant, we've got everything from escorting, kidnapping, snooping on cheating spouses, to heists and general skullduggery on the go.

but nah, pubs great to go to, especially to get rat arsed, chuck corks at peoples heads, spill your guts out to the understanding and mildly attractive barmaid, and just generally have fun.
