Yep, can't beat Joy Division; they're a favorite of mine as anyone who checks in on this thread regularly would be able to tell - I've been listening to Unknown Pleasures pretty consistently since sixteen and it never ceases to create some kind of emotional response.

Anyway, lot of the stuff I've posted recently has been pretty obscure (except for the above) so I'm going to go with something more well-known...

Quite fancy piano-music overall and the melody on this one is priceless.

You bastard. Um... I don't really know... - I'm very emotionally attached to the Cure, Disintegration in particular, though I would say that is the only Cure album I would rate alongside The Queen Is Dead or Meat Is Murder. To sum it up: I can listen to any Smiths album, at any time, in any mood and I will enjoy it - whereas I can only listen to the Cure if I'm in a particular mood or frame of mind. The Smiths are more consistent. However, Robert Smith > Morrissey any day.

Same here. I love the The Queen Is Dead, but I prefer The Smiths over Meat Is Murder. And yes, Morissey is as damn good as an egomaniac, unfortunatly.

I know the Chamaleons, I love their What Does Anything Mean? Basically. They're among the precursors of the Shoegaze to come somel years later, probably the last badass british scene along with Madchester one.

Ride's Nowhere is among my favourite shoegaze records. I've been listening a lot to Slowdive's Souvlaki and Adorable's Against Perfection recently.

Haven't listened to Adorable, will check them out. The others you mentioned are class though. Liking Chapterhouse, Mojave 3, Galaxie 3000 and Lush too.

One of the best though is Have A Nice Life, an American shoegaze/post-punk band with some post-rock and drone influence. This is one of their more post-punk-esque tracks.

one of my favorite coltrane tracks, even if it was just those beautiful multiphonic chords around 0:43 repeated and repeated; it would still be one of my favorites.
