((As copied from http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html?topicId=14870027917&sid=1 ))

The past week word has spread from the Cathedral of Light past down its followers that a new initiative has been taken. Apparantly, an old grey-haired veteran has started a program, for paladins, warriors of the Light. Once again the Cathedral is turned into a centre of learning like it always was, now with organisation, an aim, and a strong sense of purpose.

Rumor has it, this man has learned from the best himsefl, hailing back to the first and second wars, and the Order of the Silver Hand. Perhaps there is some credibility to him.

((Greetings Defias Brotherhood, greetings alliance, greetings paladins!

I'm here to introduce a new initiative I've been preparing for the last week or so.
Sparked by recent events *cough, crimsons, cough* Kaeden has decided the current quality of paladins doesn't hold a candle to the glory days of the Silver Hand. After some discussion he decided he might as well try and do something about it, and so the idea was born. Here's how it works!

Everyone is welcome. Everyone is welcome, even though the course is aimed at paladins. If you have an interest in light or simply in paladins themselves, feel free to attend! However, attendants will have to follow the 'teacher''s instructions in order to uphold order and make it enjoyable for everyone.

The course can be followed at irregular intervals. Each class will stand on its own and teach something diffirent. However, it will be to your advantage to try and follow as many classes in a row as possible, since assignments will be given and checked, commented on, and the classes themselves follow a logical order.

The program itself: the program will teach a wide variety of things; ranging from the three virtues of the Light, from basic to advanced, to the practical side of the Light in the paladin's life. It will feature morality, sporting the difficult choices paladins are often faced with. For the truly eagre students there will be the teaching of advanced channeling of the Light: true exorcisms; purging demonic influences without damaging the body, or blessing a mundane item into an artifact, for instance.

However, this isn't all! What is more, tasks will be given to students willing to accept them (after all, you have to train yourself) These tasks will often include reading and writing, researching the Light or the lives of other paladins. Student may also be set to work to copy ancient texts in order to learn them and preserve knowledge. Due to the rarity of books, all this will be done in the paladin wing of the cathedral, making it a centre for learning; hopefully sparking alot of 'cross-student' RP. Also, teachers can regulary be found here for questions or personal training. Of course, said books are actual books made with GHI, from a variety of writers, most within the Disciples of Light.

Furthermore it needs to be noted that not just beginning characters (IC) should attend this. Even the most advanced paladin has things to learn, as no-one is perfect. The Disciples of Light are an excellent example: they are supporting this project, and I expect a lot of them attending, even if they already are better schooled than average.

In short, this is a project in its infancy with great capacity. I hope for the support of the community. Lessons will be held on regular basis, depending on the amount of interest at any given time they may even be held at random like the sermons from the Cathedral preachers. For now the lessons will be scheduled, and announced here.

Did I miss anything?))

------------------------------

((To those interested how the first class went: none showed up. So!

Decided to change direction. If you feel your character could use some of the above, feel free to whisper at any convenient time. I'm online most evenings. We'll discuss what exactly we will do, making sure that the program is tailored precisely as you want it.

As soon as interest has grown a bit and I have a decent amount of 'students' I will reconsider giving open classes. As it is, there's no use to do so.))

Hey Kaeden,

It's good to see it posted here and from the work we did together I know this is a very ambitious and terrific type of RP that could give tremendous depth to character development as far as the class goes. I'm convinced this kind of RP could even serve as an entire storyline and background in its own right for any given character.

I'm sad I missed your first class but I was on my honeymoon. I'm still stuck though, whether I would join your classes out of interest with Pierre or make a new char and have this be his starting storyline. Damn.. choices choices..

Well, as I said, there wasn't much interest for the last class. I'd rather have people contact me oocly by whisper or mail and tell me their interest, and we'll set something up. Though, if suddenly interest is sparked, I might give another class soon.

@JP

I'd love it if you had your alt use this as his storyline.. I have someone else (a good friend of mine) coming over as well, and it'd be really great of I had a few 'real' students beside the paladins who'd just (in my expectations) follow these classes on the side.
