Before people say there is a thread for this, I did search for it and it wasn't there.
I'd just like to have a brief discussion on how sporty / and which type people do ^^.
Personally I enjoy swimming and Parkour.
Parkour being number 1 ! Very Happy!
What about YOU?!

After going to my beloved Ukraine, coming back, reading the posts . Thought i'd divulge in my history of sport.
I started with kickboxing, then moved onto tae kwon do, karate, boxing, and finished with a fighting sport called Systema. Not a sport really but a way of killing people. Meh, I needed it at the time. Ah yeah Sinclair reminded me of about 2 years of hockey time. Played for a under 16s team called Rockets. Good times. I'm a parkourist now, first and foremost. Still wanting to release a video, but damaged my back in a fun dive roll attempt with a 1.5mish drop on the other side. Didn't really make the landing, Perturbo my man was with me watching my brilliant fuck up. Oh well enough reading for you all, and to conclude, sport is a fun reacreation. Everybody should partake, no matter if you're a WoW addict or a heroin addict, get your fat arse somewhere out and about. Also, if you haven't done snorkelling, I personally recommend it as one of the most relaxing activities ever. More a hobby than a "sport" per say.

Used to go to the gym before i moved recently and i also used to do rockclimbing.
Planning to start up with that stuff again after ive settled in.

Just gym currently plus ATV ridding and paintball when there is time, also had around twelve years of martial arts before that, judo and tae-kwon-do. Does beeing lazy count as a sport?

I was bored so I started going to gym again, when I'm confident in my "bad" knee again, I'm going to try to restart doing the lulzy Floorball/Floorhockey/Innebandy etc.

I run 5 miles every single day: I am literally addicted to it. I love running so incredibly much that I would give up an arm (not a leg obviously) to keep running until I was 100. Other than, I like to play volleyball, basketball and a bit of soccer (I suck at all three of them though :p). I love to play baseball too although I rarely get the chance to.

And you can do parkour? Seriously? :O Wow that's really amazing!! I'd love to try it someday. Some of the parkour I've seen is just simply terrifying, god it must be great though >:]

Wow the martial arts part sounds really interesting. I took a few lessons in karate and I think I got bored after a week :p. They never let me actually fight anyone :(! Definitely would love to try another martial arts some day soon though, maybe judo? Hmm

Well, I'm a kiteboarder. It's an amazing sport if you ask me with boundless opportunities, enormous thrills and a great community. Though probably doesn't count but 2 weeks ago I had two lessons of Lacrosse, this and next week I have had, and will have, a lesson of karate (two in total, followed by going wallclimbing twice two weeks after that.'
Didn't really enjoy Lacrosse, karate is fun and brings back nostalgia from the days I was active in martial arts (shisundo and Hap ki do) and looking forward to climbing. School allows us to have 2 lessons of 3 sports or so for free (with the clause that you have to pick 3 sports and have to attend, forced upon us by the government but I don't mind at all)

Oh, and I'm going to have my first lesson of kick boxing next Monday and if I enjoy it I'll probably keep doing that alongside kiteboarding, at least in the winter.. So yeah.

But anyway, as it stands now I'll keep kiteboarding until I'm physically unable to do so anymore, I love doing that so much.

It certainly does!

I've been quite lazy after my left wrist was injured in a volleyball match, hum, 12 years ago. Still hurts if I use it too much, so no sports for me except for gym and running.

Used to do a lot of selfdefence/Martial Arts.
Trained Fencing for loads of years when I was younger. Done quite a lot not much the last five years.

Once I get more confidence in my knees (which -suck-) I'll try to get back into the Hurricane Combat Arts, or Krav Maga, aswell as start up Parkour.

And Shae, Parkour anyone can start with. Just need some confidence and start at their level. Climbing a building by jumping between balconies isn't the thing you do on day one.

Ah all right, I see. I really dont mind getting a few bruises here and there, but I dont know where I would start... I live in the suburbs and there are huge gardens between each house. I suppose I could begin with err ... jumping over the sofa? :p

And Antistia, now I definitely want you to take me kite surfing one of these days :O!!! must be hell on the arms though, but wow that actually looks like fun

Actually, it isn't half bad on the arms, one can make it hell on the arms by overpowering/unhooking but if you look at the kiteboarders you'll see that we all wear a harness. It spreads the power of the kite across our whole body as long as we are hooked in, greatly reducing the amount of strain on the arms (Which, if you allow yourself to become overpowered can still be a helluva lot)

At my school there was a yoga club I think. I went there with my gfs, I left as soon as I saw the ... gender imbalance there :p. You can learn yoga online though, I'm sure. It's great for your health and flexibility, and I am sure you want a lot of the latter, Etu >;]

Shae, if it's not to hard for you to get into the "downtown" area there might be some group that does Parkour, otherwise it's possible in other areas aswell just, harder to find obsticals.

As for Yoga, internet, DVDs? Or actually going outside and finding a club =P

Nobody even knows what parkour is here. I only know what is it because I was in france for a bit some years ago :p Anyways I would rather learn something like jujitsu or whatever than parkour :p. It looks fun though, and thanks for the advice :)

When it comes to buying anything or spending my money, my parents are incredibly strict - and would forbid me joining any club/buying a DVD (not to mention, as Shae said, I fear gender inequality in joining a club). Currently, I'm restricted purely to the internet - and have no idea where to start at all. pale
