[A] The Honorarily Run

The honorarily run, is an event I have been pondering over for quite a while now. So I wanted to bring it up here, and see if it is something people would be interested in really.

As event, it is nothing much, not hard to set up since it doesn't require much at all. However I still believe it is a nice little event to have, just to break away from your everyday "walking around Stormwind Cathedral square listening to people argue".


So what is the event? It would be a long run, from one point to another. A contest, where as every contestant put in a fee of 2-5 gold or so, and in the end the winner gets all the gold gathered and perhaps some other nice prizes. The contestant runs, as said from one point to another. Where as no magical mean's are allowed (blinks, nor sprints or anything alike), there are not much others rules.

The run is IC supposed to simulate the fact that even though it is a though world out there, we do not give up. As such, the contestant are even allowed to do things to each others to slow other contestants down (this is also to be able to create more roleplay between contestants while running).

The road itself will also be hard. As I was planning for now, I'd be a total run from Stormwind gates, to Stromgarde gates.

For now, I am not going to set any dates, or make it official IC. I first wanted to ask a few questions I was hoping people would not mind answering:

1. Is this something you'd like to participate in?

2. There is need of 7 or so people that help organizing, would you want to be part of those?

3. Is there anything you'd like to suggest to improve such an event?

I can put Whitestar at contribution for the organisation. Eledeza will certainly not run ! OMG no, never !! :p

We could maybe start at Stormgate, and finish in Stormwind, it will be nicer I guess to have a little party after to celebrate the winner ?

By all means, we can have a party in Stromgarde also. If only for one night to spread roleplay out a bit then just have it linger in Stormwind as always. But indeed, a party can be sorted for when the runners have all reached the goal.

Indeed, you got a good point for this ! If we end at Stormgard, it should be the Arathorian who organise the party/dinner/banquet.

An idea for the run would be to have (as for the Tour de France), some particular place, where the runner could get a drink and a sandwich or something (mini break). A kind of Halt, so to say. At those place there would have an organisation crew, and the public could wait to see the "champion" and acclame them.

I wish them luck and hope everyone attending is honorable enough to change to the spec without a movement related talent and stay with it?

No, I'd pass. I'm not really into racing. I'd help organize it, but won't race.

Dorik can come along, I can also post the event in our calendar for our guild to see.

I think this is a great idea, however as my master and mylady Eledeza said i think i would love standing beside on a mount, being a journalist and all i take the pictures and write about it. but its a great idea indeed.!

There should be more to win, than just a sack of money. I mean, like a trophy or something (And by that, I do refer to a thing... No need for all the "You can have my daughter as trophy", "You can have my horse as trophy" or "You can have my husband as trophy! Please, take him!")... I don't know, could be made as an GHI, but of course, that would be kinda easy to copy. But there should defiantly be some more than just a sack of money
