The people have spoken.
Okay... I'm going to be straight here, things are out of control.
And we need a change. AND FAST if we want to keep these forums in one piece.
So what I purpose is
1) MODERATORS, COME OUT OF THE HOLE AND COMMUNICATE WITH US! Trade your banhammer for a universal forum translator, else your community will leave or destroy your creation.
2) CHANGE THE WHOLE RULES ENFORCING THING! Honestly, I repeat myself here, nobody died from simple trolling or flaming. It's not like anyone posted child pornography with hitler singing "Death to gay black jews" on the background, and I doubt anyone ever will. An immature joke thrown around is not a reason for banhammers, is it?
3) LET THE COMMUNITY CHOOSE THE MODS! We have polls, we can vote, we can act as a society rather than a stuck up club of snobs.
That is all. unless anyone has anything BEYOND RANDOMNESS to add here;
I'm done.

Re: The people have spoken.
let us not get all too serious all too fast o.o
I think your points are valid (except for the second one).
The MODs need to communicate with their community and letting the community choose them would be a good way to avoid elitism and nepotism

I think an open discussion to see if this is reeeaaally what we want would be more beneficial, rather than being like a spoiled football team just firing the head coach cause the players suck.

I did not purpose removal of the moderators, no;
I purpose an open discussion to really see if the people want to accept certain individuals as their moderators. With all contras and defenses spoken, it will be an admin's decision to pass judgement;
And if the decision is wrong - I'm afraid I wouldn't be alone in saying goodbye to this site.

Wouldn't making another forum work just as well?

Why bother when this forum is already advertised, works, is fully used and to be honest constantly populated.
The basis of the forum's purpose is brilliant! Sadly that will never be enough.

Electing Mods would suggest this forum is a democracy. Think of it as a monarchy. It ain't a choice. Stop whining. And just have fun.. If you didn't make a fuss, there'd be nothing to make a fuss about.

It should be a democracy, without it being such, you get this...*points at general chat*...
Want to be a Monarch? Go play with your dolls and your dollhouse, this forum isn't yours. It's -ours-.

The great thing about internet democracy is that people can make their own forum to spew nonsense in.

Why did you say that like i'm .. a moderator?
And actually this forum is owned by whomever created it. We all joined because we were asked to, not because we just went, yeah, this is ours now.

It is? Well that's interesting to know. What the fuck was I doing for so many hours fixing all kinds of shit and ACP and coding and usergroup tidying, while at the same time being attacked/mocked/taunted/whatever the fuck some retards' minds spew, then? My bad, must've lived in some alternative universe. Oh and before I forget... Last time "the People" had a voice, the same 5-6 people qq'd how it "doesn't really express the people". Here's a mirror, enjoy.Nygarth wrote:it's run by the community,

Got better things to do, if you'll excuse me.

I don't know what people are even going on about? I haven't been banned for anything (yet), I've been given a warning yes, but I don't see any problems with the forums at the moment, it's actually a release from all the trade chat bulls**t and the official forums complaining and sucking up to goons, in fact, kudos to all the mods that made such a nice environment for the roleplayers to collaborate, you may get hate from people, but know that the majority appreciates your contribution to the community.

Re: The people have spoken.
Exactly what Nayan said.
Dear god, if you want an even less moderated forum then go to 4chan.
I've seen nothing wrong with this forum at all, except for a few people who seem to enjoy randomly flaming, trolling or just spewing crap at another person. It's getting beyond a joke with the amount QQing people seem to do over basic, standard and very common forum rules.
The Blizzard forums have even stricter rules than this place, you know.

Re: The people have spoken.
Nobody forced you to use forumotion which, from the looks of it, is the most complicated forum engine ever.
PHPBB is 5 times easier and looks better. IMO.
But Nayan... Technical stuff is not everything you, the "top", should be doing. What's the point in fixing a bus if you're driving it alone? In all honesty, you're the last person I would shout at... But the others really make me want to turn violent sometimes.

I never said you didn't run it on a technical basis. I appreciate that. But when it comes to what's actually matters, on the forefront atleast, is the censorship. It's over the top. Morgeth has it right, you don't.
Oh and btw...You -are- part of the community, my point still stands as it was focused mainly at Saihna.

To quote myself. Please read before posting.
The forum isn't the problem, it's various moderation techniques.

I don't have the community to moderate, sooooo...
Yeah. If you guys would prefer my forums to this, however; Or, at least, would consider looking at it once it's done. Then I could do that.

Exactly; how would you know what it's like to moderate this community?

There are ways beyond locking & censoring the crap out of every living thing you don't like.

It wasn't that they didn't like it, it was the fact that people were complaining.
If people complain about a problem you fix it.
The reason Felinaa was given so many warnings because, as clearly stated in her post, she upset people.
If people don't like the fact that someone who upset people was given warnings, then there's something wrong with them.
