They're treading a thin line certainly, Kotick's inflammatory comments and general disgust for his consumers is going to spark off some form of boycotting one of these days.

As I understand it you have to buy seperate copies of Starcraft in order to play in the different regions (EU/US/Asia?)

So, say I wanted to play with an american friend, that would be 2 copies of each game. Then each campaign is another copy, so that would be 2 x 3 no? Average UK retail price is probably around £35 so.. £210 to play the entire game with the rest of the western world? (god forbid that you wish to play with Koreans also but you'd have to be somewhat sadistic I guess.)

Nah just wait and see they will slap a monthly fee on B.net 2.0 and then few months later offer the chance to play in different regions for a additional price.

Should we really be surprised there is someone has this idea to abuse the gamers, obviously most of them are stupid as hell(Hi reskinned horse for 25 bucks a pop being brought by a shitton of players)

People cant vote with their feet, the playerbase it to busy tearing at eachother throats for either being nolifes(has achivemed more than me in a game/is a better player) or being a bad scrub(Achieved less/dont play as much/plays worse) than to rise up and say "Enough is enough".

Kotick wouldn't be as much of a problem if people weren't so stupid and caved in all the time. Blame the retards who bought that stupid mount for starters. If people start voting by not submitting to their ridiculous prices, we'd be rid of Kotick sooner rather than later, but by the looks of it it's not gonna happen (MW2 disaster anyone?).

Mind you, I haven't read the linked article in the original post...

However, they already do this with World of Warcraft. I had to get European versions of the game in order to play on EU servers. I own copies of vanilla WoW and TBC for American servers, and I can say I'm spoiled enough that I haven't had to buy any EU copies of the game, they were all sent to me as gifts. I do pay for my own subscription, however, and after its conversion to American currency (at the time, I buy game cards now), it costs me about 20 dollars a month to play, which is a few dollars more than North American players have to pay.

I can't even migrate these characters back to American servers, so I'd start all over if I decided to go back to playing with North Americans. Very Happy Which will never happen...I went back to American servers for a month and hated it. So you Europeans are properly stuck with me.

Ya, but there's a difference in server structure when it comes to matchmaking vs MMOs. Just sayin' ^^

Fel, Cool person? You obviously dont know her that well.

And Americans look like tools on the interwebs because its almost always some 12 year old kid defending his country and attempting to shit on others(low-selfesteem anyone?), if you meet some grown up americans in real life they are pretty damn awesome.

I thought Fel' was canadian?

Well, my old man was once offered a lift by a guy in a golf cart thing. He only had to walk a couple of meters so he said no thanks.
That made the american respond:"You don't walk in texas".
