Lightbane? Empty Lightbane?

Post by Heirio Sat Jan 17, 2015 1:07 am

Just wondering, you can bless a weapon with the light to be more effective against demonic/shadow/otherevilshit energies. But can you enchant one to be more effective against users of the light?

I'd assume any shadow enchantment would do it, so long as it was a corrupting influence that could weaken the Light Users belief in the Light. For example - if the weapon whispered to the Light user every time it struck.

In the novel "Beyond the Dark Portal" Tyralion or whateverhisfaceis faces off against Teron Gorefiend. In order to weaken him, Teron Gorefiend uses shadow magic against Tyraface, making him doubt himself and his cause, which weakens his attatchment to the light.

So basicly, in order to weaken a lightwielder, weaken their faith - Items that darkens their resolve etc. should give your character an edge!

Shadow seems to ignore some shielding and stuff in lore too. I had an unholy DK that would fight in RP using dots, ie wounding and infecting ect. It doesnt always work but it is fun to do to a good RPer.

I think it's a matter of fire and water. Ie. fire will make water evaporize faster but water definitely has the upper hand in the encounter. In this case, the light is water and shadow/unholy/evil magic is fire. So while evil magic will definitely weaken the resolve and thus in a way can be said to be effective vs. light users, I don't think it's anywhere near the level that the light devastates dark creatures.

Also, even though the shadow could weaken the resolve of a Light user, i think it would only amplify self doubt that already exists - because of this, it could be resisted by a person simply having a solid belief in themself at any point. A weapon like this would not be effective most of the time i think.

The shadows true power happens over time as it slowly degrades belief and health.

That said, Shadow enchanted weapons are cool.

Evils best weapon is time Razz

Screwtape letters are by far the best RP resource for evil peoples wanting to know how to manipulate people.
