History: Oskar Lewisham was born a farmer and raised somewhere in the Hillsbrad Foothills. Since he was a child he boasted a villainous and unlawful attitude, coped with an alarming tendency towards violence. While at first deemed unworthy for military service because of his undisciplined behavior, he could eventually join Southshore's local defense force as a replacement because of the lack of able-bodied men. He then spent the Scourge years in Southshore, securing its borders.

He rose to prominence following the Third War, during the long campaign against the Syndicate rebels in the Alterac Mountains, where he stood out for his initiative and endurance during years of patrols and marches across the snowy mountains of Alterac. Eventually becoming a commissioned officer, he was given the leadership of a small unit, which he led through a "horrifying campaign of pillages and indiscriminate killing", as stated in his superiors' reports. According to the same sources, he left in his wake villages burnt to the ground and a high number of civilian casualties; his unit was in fact "renowned" for killing war prisoners and maiming enemy corpses (beheading and collecting gold teeth especially). Oskar Lewisham conducted a successful unconventional warfare campaign in which he interrupted enemy supply lines (to the point of starving the local populace) and kidnapped some of the Syndicate's leaders' relatives, in order to crush enemy resistance. Months later, when the snow melt and communication with the headquarter could be restored, word of his actions spread and his unit was immediately relieved from the frontline. Oskar Lewisham was found guilty of war crimes, hanged and buried in an unmarked grave; his unit was subsequently disbanded. Some say secret political connections between Southshore and Alterac nobles influenced the sentence. Nevertheless, his methods proved successful, as the Syndicate eventually retreated within the borders of the Alterac region.

Only a few weeks later the Forsaken waged war on the Alliance, swiftly crushing enemy resistance and managing to occupy the near entirety of the Silverpine Forest and the Hillsbrad Foothills. Among the unfortunate ones resurrected by Sylvanas' val'kyrs was Oskar Lewisham, who saw this opportunity as his second chance. He spent some months lurking in the woods, trying to track down those involved with his death: the few he found faced unspeakable horror. Determined to take advantage of his new condition he decided to join the Hand of Damnation, hoping to continue his revolting habits, this time against his former brethren.
