It was a sunny spring morning in the lush forests of Eversong Woods. Elthinir had just finished his morning duties within the Farstriders, and now, left the lodge to go out scouting on his own, which he has done so many times before. He left the lodge without much in way of protection, simply wearing the golden leather that his father had given to him over one hundred years ago, and a red bow strapped onto his back along with the quiver. As he neared the main road, he heard the familiar clash of mental places, signifing the approach of Blood Knights So, as always, he decided to take cover in a nearby bush, spying on them as they pass.

He saw them approaching from a distance, a few regular blood knights, though one looking oddly familiar. In the center of the group, walked one with less armor, but unlike the rest, he was wearing another tabard. It had a crimson background, golden straight borders and a scepter with a ring around it as mark. Intrigued by the group, he snuck closer to the road, now hiding under a root just a few yards away from it. As the group drew closer, his eyes locked on the familiar elf, first, he simply stared at him, shocked. But slowly he started to realise who it was, causing a wide smile to spread across Elthinir's face.

He leapt up from hiding, infront of the group. His face completely calm with a smirk across his lips. He uttered two words to the ground ''Hello... Brother...'' And remained completely still for a short while longer, before one of the Blood knights walked forward, embracing his biological brother in a gentle hug. After a brief introduction, he was asked to accompany the group back to Silvermoon. The leader of the group, an elf by the name Eruadan who had strangely remained towards the rear of the group, telling him of those who wished to make in a stand in restoring the lands to their former glory. Before the undead, and before the orcs...

Elthinir... Was deeply intrigued by all of this, and offered his services as a Farstrider. Which thankfully, Eruadan accepted and something that would later be revealed he had little choice in. After a short briefing, Elthinir returned to the lodge to speak with his superiors. And ever since that day, Elthinir has served the Quel'Selama in their quest to restore Quel'thalas to her former glory.

Who are Quel'Selama?
The Quel'Selama (High Justice in Thalassian) are an organisation comprised of Magisters, Blood Knights & Farstriders formed with the singular goal of strengthening the Sin'Dorei race through any and all possible means. To the public the Quel'Selama are seen as a militaristic, united front of the Silvermoon government, a vision of unity that will restore Quel'Thalas to its former glory and bring justice to its enemies (as per its name). In reality the Quel'Selama is a magister led operation, tasked with the finding means to which Quel'Thalas and the Sin'Dorei may be strengthened. Experiments of all manners are researched and performed from the construction of arcane constructs and weaponry to finding ways to amplify physical and mental strength. Primarily focused on experimentation, the Blood Knights and Farstriders (volunteers or transfers) protect the magisters when required, perform field work such as testing unstable weaponry or capturing undesirables and prisoners for which their benefactors.

<Quel Selama> is a relatively new guild to the server however we are quickly expanding our ranks with a large, varied number of blood elven classes and levels. Before many more people leap onto the bandwagon; no we are not a copy of Sin Belore (with some luck, the information presented above may go some way to dismissing these concerns).

Focus
Our primary focuses are both (heavy) role-playing and world player versus player combat. Many members also take part in various player versus environment activities however this is not one of our primary focuses at present. Events take place on a weekly basis for both the guild as a whole and the three primary groups. Magisters for mages, priests & warlocks, Blood Knights for paladins and the Farstriders for hunters and rogues.

Groupings
Quel'Selama puts a enthuses on variation, as per the three groupings implies. Those whom join as a Blood Knight (with a focus on military-esq role-playing, drills, 'peacekeeping' etc) will likely have a different experience to a Farstrider. Each group is overseen by one or more officers who's role it is (though not restricted to) the creation of events and encouraging role-playing amongst his/her own grouping alongside the regular guild. In this way we hope to create an environment that is very reminiscent of Silvermoon's state within lore; the rivalry between the Blood Knights, Farstriders and Magisters whilst at the same time working together towards the greater goal.

Magisters
The Magisters (Referring to both the organisation as a whole) are a group of blood elf mages, warlocks and priests and the foundation of arcane society within Quel'Thalas. They use their talents in the various arts to defend, construct, manage and strengthen the blood elven lands. The Quel'Selama is a primarily Magister operated and focused organisation whilst their 'public' image when imply a more military, Blood Knight led agenda. It is the responsibility of those Magisters amongst Quel'Selama to seek out, steal or otherwise create anything that might aid Quel'Thalas (or at the very least hinder its foes); from arcane-infused constructs & weaponry, to the perfection of the Sin'Dorei race. Similar to the Blood Knights, each 'Magister' is generally stripped of titles held before transfer, with the more experienced within Quel'Selama taking one of them on as an apprentice as to familiarise and prepare them for the type of work they will be undertaking whilst in the service of Quel'Selama.

Blood Knights
Within Quel'Selama the Blood Knights act as enforcers & shock troopers, often tasked with undertaking field work themselves or safekeeping the Magisters during assignments. Given the cloaked, 'black' nature of Quel'Selama those amongst its number are often handpicked whether out of loyalty, skill at arms, or both. Previous titles held by a Knight prior to transfer (Master, Champion etc) are stripped until they are have again earned this or transfer from the organisation. The Blood Knights often find themselves at odds with the Farstriders and within the Quel'Selama there is little exception. However over the time of working so closely together the dislike of the other has subsided gradually amongst certain members, yet an often bitter rivalry still remains.

Farstriders
The Farstriders are an elite group of rangers. Although every member is a ranger, a rare few do take on roguish pursuits and these few are given great interest by the eyes of Quel'Selama given the darker nature of these individuals work and often more 'flexible' morality compared to their more keen-eyed comrades. Roughly five hundred years ago, a group of similarly dedicated fighters formed and officially took on the name "Farstriders". Their mandate was to protect Quel'Thalas far beyond its actual borders and look after high elf interests all over Azeroth. Over time the Farstriders' focus has evolved. Today the Farstriders do not usually range far from home. Instead, they are trying to reclaim the southern section of Quel'Thalas. Those Farstriders amongst the Quel'Selama whether transferred or voluntary take pride in following their roots closely given the large number of assignments that require service away from their homeland.

Recruitment
At present those who wish to join or enquire for more information on the guild are free to contact any of the officers however it is recommended that you speak to the officer of your respective class should they be available as this will allow for more specific information or entry; Eruadan (Blood Knights), Elithinir (Farstriders), Suiauthon (Blood Knights) or Xeltirith (Magisters).

Thank you.

How do you see the Quel'Selama in relation to the other blood elf guilds, particularly those with a similar, militaristic nature (Sin Belore, Sunfury Elite)? Asking since the description that it is seen as the united front of the government by public seems ripe for causing trouble in this regard without coordination with other guilds of similar nature.

The 'United Front' is some poster paint that the government had slapped over the top as reasoning for having these few Magisters, Knights, etc (bear in mind those apart of it were transfered to their organisation, not all of them).

In reality they aren't so militaristic (It actually states this several times in the post), and are actually not so united as it is the Magisters running the show instead. There is militarism a part of this, naturally, but it tends to be restricted to the Blood Knights

Would it be fair to see it as kind of an OSS?

Given a "stamp" of approval by the government, some funding, and something of carte blanche:

  • to recruit (the Armed Forces, academics, researchers) through "volunteers" (i'm guessing some coercion could come into this? maybe buying of idemnity for certain crimes?)

    to "do the necessary"

to take the fight to jerry, what-what... i mean, the scourge. or whoever.

all the while with enough of a "gap" from the government that any actions (which may effect inter-race/faction relations) are easily denied or put down to renegade operatives?

My concern was more with the part of it that unambiguously describe what the public opinion was, and also that my initial impression was that it sought to represent the direct agenda (and by extension, authority) of the government, meaning anyone who came into conflict with Quel'Selama would automatically be in conflict with the Government as a whole.

If it's more an autonomous branch sanctioned by the government, but not necessarily always representing the larger agenda of that government as Gruff put it, then no issues ^^
