Cult roleplay?

Could anyone direct me to posts introducing different cult gatherings on Alliance side and/or give me a brief introduction to them as a response to this?

I heard http://www.defiasrp.com/t4936-a-rp-pvp-the-frozen-covenant is alive as well, as well as http://www.defiasrp.com/t5557-a-the-black-hand?highlight=hand should be around. Though those seems more death knight focused.

The Black Hand is indeed around, and does welcome non-death knights into its ranks (and by "welcome" I mean "not necessarily -always- slaughter on sight). Membership is being built up to a more permanently active level slowly, but is currently is more of a place to put your evil alt for sometime-wicked RP. Events/activity is thus sporadic, but when it happens, utterly epic.

I believe Omen of Discord is more active, with a more demonic/fel focus, although I don't have a character in their guild so I could be wrong. I can vouch that their events are also good, having been involved with an (oocly Omen-led) attack on one of their bases, ICly a joint Blades for Hire/Chapter of Holy Anethion/Disciples of Light assault which was pretty fun, and smooth to boot.

Vaell is also attempting to set up a non-guild cult where people can secretly be a part of it RP-wise, making it interesting to RP a cultist without fear of guild-tag metagaming and WITH fear of your guildies ICly discovering your dirty little secret...

To be fair Chapter is the biggest and longest-running cult on Defias. AND the most successful! Publicly accepted AND they can destroy their competitors with impunity

The Chapter is only a cult insofar as all religious orders are, to a degree, cults. The fact that the Chapter does have mainstream acceptance (though not necessarily support!) and ICly a fairly large peasant following kinda of disproves any simplistic 'lol but they're a cult too!' analysis; a large part of what makes a cult is a leader that attempts to shut his followers away from the mainstream of society as well; thats clearly not the case with the Chapter. So, yeah, the Chapter isn't necessarily a cult according to IRL or WoW definitions.

Just wanted to get that out there as off-topic as it is!
