Figured we needed this thread for Olympics discussion, thoughts and stuff.

I couldn't see the entire opening ceremony because I had to sift through a gizillion channels until I could find one that would let me watch for free ... was there for the oath swearing, gonna look it up online later to watch it all.

But WOW the olympic flame is BEAUTIFUL. I was close to tearing up, it was so amazing. And my mom screamed Paul McCartney's name when she saw him and started singing along lol ... such a fangirl.

Aaah can't wait to see the rest what time is it on next and what day?

The entire ceremony was insane. I mean, the start showing Britain from a more agricultural time straight through the industrial age, paying heed to Shakespeare, then the NHS part with reference to all the literature and children - very beautiful! Then the music through the ages was insane, though the technology thing was a little bit... eh... then that ending with the torch! Sebastian Cole's speech too. Great opening!

Ya fey that's what I want to know too :p. I want to watch the entire ceremony now bleh I want to see the countries coming out, anyone know a good site? And I wish all those Bahraini's would stop posting those horrible pics @ #olympicsccereony? ...

You tube it maybe? Or not bother cos the Kuwait team suck hard apparently. :p Appantly this year all teams will have male and female participants which is nice. Netherlands apparently invaded someone and so some islanders have no country and now run under the Olympic flag so boo to you Dutch!!! Boo!!

But yeah opening ceremony worth watching again, the first bit was pretty cool, if you like raping countrysides in the search for progress I guess, go GB for being the first nation to work that out. Also Voldemort was there, glad he cleaned up his act and got a sensible job post death eating.

No David Tennant dressed up as the Tenth Doctor lighting the flame. I am disappoint.

Did anyone see the Queen checking her nails and frowning when Team GB came out during the parade. I couldn't stop laughing.

The commentator said something along the lines of

"And there's her majesty the queen.. erm.. soaking it all in!"

I think the queen was only there to see Dizzy.
