[A] Army of the Damned Empty [A] Army of the Damned

Post by Jemerick Tue May 31, 2011 5:31 pm

This is a revamped Scourge role-playing guild on Alliance defias brotherhood EU.

The Scourge is one of three major undead factions existing in the world of Azeroth (the other two being the Forsaken and the Knights of the Ebon Blade), and a major player for control of the world. They have a vast "empire". Created initially as the precursor to an invasion by the Burning Legion after their previous failures, the Scourge broke free from their demonic masters and — under the iron rule of the dread Lich King — have built up their power base on the Arctic continent of Northrend. Their influence spreads throughout Northrend, as well as the Plaguelands in northern Lordaeron and southern Quel'Thalas, and even Kalimdor to a small degree. A terrifying and insidious enemy, the Scourge remains perhaps the most dangerous threat to the world of Azeroth.

We accept ALL race and classes.

The ranking system and the hierarchy

Scourgelord leads the Army, all the cultists, acolytes, casters and death knights pledge their loyalty to him and fulfill every one of his commands. He cannot be over-ruled and his decision is final. Currently Althalos Rowan, protege of Ephitos Sytherius and a hard-line Scourge worshiper.

Necrolords are often masters of both Necromancy and Shadow magic, excelling in the arts and rising quickly through the Thuzadin ranks these are the trusted agents of the Scourgelord. Adept at infiltration and destruction from the interior, these are the most dangerous Scourge agents to encounter.

How does one become a Necrolord?
A rank not to be trifled with. This is again a senior officer rank both In-characterly and Out-of-characterly. Attending RP events, helping the guild itself OOCly and providing RP for those under you are the main elements of this rank. However, knowing the lore, sticking to the rules and being -useful- IC gains most merit from a possible promotion.

An Instructor is an elite death knight assigned by the Scourgelord to guide initiate death knights of the Military Sect. There is currently one Instructor in the Military Sect of the Army of the Damned.

How does one become an Instructor?
As Instructor is an officer rank both IC and OOC commitment and dedication are essential aspects in this role. Attending events, creating events, providing RP for the ranks lower than you and being a foundation of the guild are all elements of this rank.

Darkcaster is an expert in both necromancy, shadow magic and anything else he or she may have picked up along the way. Elevated to this rank for his/her service to the Scourgelord he is only steps away from being bestowed the honor of a phylactery.

How does one achieve the rank of darkcaster?
Through event attendance, rp-pvp contribution, and general work in the guild aswell as In-character progression will see your character both respected by your brethren, as well as being seen in the eyes of the Scourgelord as a useful tool for the Scourge.

Death Knight is an accepted and respected member of the Army. Both capable of necromancy and melee combat this rank contains both instructor responsibilities and an unmatched loyalty to the Scourgelord. These are the exceptional death knights who have fought in countless battles, fulfilled the commands of the Scourgelord's and passed the tests of the Scourge Commander.

How does one achieve the rank of Death Knight?
It is quite simple, attending events, creating your own events, fulfilling your role in-character as a minion and servant of the higher ranks and generally following the rules + promoting the guild whatever way you can. Both In-character and Out of character contributions are essential.

Necromancer is a junior officer rank for casters.Slowly progressing in the Army these are those who have chosen to follow the path of the Thuzadin sect, embracing necromancy as the dominant magic they train, practice and fulfill Resurrection, doom and doom!

How does one achieve the rank of Necromancer?
It is quite simple. After joining you must make clear that you wish to undertake the path of the Thuzadin sect. In time a suitable mentor will be assigned to be begin teaching you and before you know it you will be showing your talent and skills to the Scourgelord, showing him that you are a force to be reckoned with and a successful user of necromancy.

Cultist is a low rank designed for mainly those who have only attended 3-4 regular events and have yet not fought. Their loyalty is in question as are their skills, they are watched carefully by the instructors and the higher echelon, their loyalty tested every step of the way.

Disciple is the rank given to those who have just joined and drunk from the well, supposedly pledging their loyalty to the Scourgelord and to his cause. A low rank.

Acolyte does not even deserve bold. This rank is a freshly accepted OR an OOC member of the Army.

With all this posted, the guild leader will not be above any renown Scourge figurehead leaders, only in-charge of this certain "army" or "force".

Long term goals:

- To establish the Scourge as the dominant force in the plaguelands.
- To increase the numbers of the Cult of the Damned, The sect of war, the sect of thuzadin and the sect of apothecaries.
- Re-instate Scholomance as the main school of necromancy in the Eastern Kingdoms.
- Fight Argent Dawn/ Crusade aggression in Stratholme and re-occupy the city.

Short term goals:

-Bolster the numbers.
-Create some WPVP events with the forsaken and blood elves in the Eastern Kingdoms.
-Perhaps create a Horde-side guild to WPVP against the Alliance.
-Maybe open a branch ICly in Kalimdor.
-Take over the empty ziggurat in Zul'Farak for our necromantic / apothecary needs.

Updated the original post. Also a little addition here, which can be found on our forum too.

Army of the Damned FAQ

What is Army of the Damned?
Army of the Damned is a modified Scourge role-playing guild located on the realm Defias Brotherhood. Our primary aim is to re-establish the Scourge as a major power on Azeroth.

What is the dominant goal of the Army?
With apothecaries working on a new plague we will bring apocalypse upon the living world wiping out everything and anything. In time we wish to completely take over Stratholme, re-establish Scholomance and generally gain members and In-character power and respect!

Where is the Army situated?
The Army prides itself on using original role-playing zones, especially those filled with NPC's of our faction. Plaguewood is our main base of locations, RP varying from the Fungal Vale, Darrowshire and sometimes Scholomance!

What type of view does the current Scourge hold on other factions that are not Horde or Alliance?
Valuing our independent actions we also value "allies", those who fight for neither side will be welcomed as assistants to -our- cause, without of course being aware of the plague we are working on.

How do we look on PvP?

Being on an RP-PvP realm we always have a soft spot for rated battlegrounds, arena and rp-pvp in general.

Good luck with that. If the Argent NPCs don't kick your asses, we will.

I think, that the area's described are contested territory.

And the now new advertisement page looks a lot better than the older one - With that said, it would be in my understanding that the members in Stormwind are Cult of the Damned associates (Correct me if I am wrong Jemerick)

As Sakura figured; the members within Stormwind City are cultists mainly.

We have two branches; one is the Cult and one is an army of real Scourge. The two groups tend to RP at different places, and sometimes together regardless the branch. While the Scourge prefers the Plaguelands, cultist usually can be found around the Kingdome.

I hope i clarified things.

After the mysterious disappeariance of the Lich, the cult remained without guidance. They summoned the shade of the one following in rank to hear his orders.

Though the leadership changed, the goal remains the same; Unite as many as possible under the banner of the Scourge to then together eradicate all life from the surface of Azeroth.

Our latest event on 8th, was our first RP-PvP. We got help from the Stormwind Regiment, the Forlorn Cartel, the Dreadhowl Pack and some others to increase our numbers.

Here are all the individuals lined up, ready to serve the best way they can on this event.

Now everybody is but one from the many. Not even your mother would recognize you for sure.
[A] Army of the Damned Wowscr27

The invasion begins. The army of skeleton marches toward the estate in Tirisfal, lead by Alieus the Lich, who's accompanied by Barunita, Rose and Thomsin.

Initially the Scourge was favoured in the battle, until more protector of the land of the Forsaken arrived. It looked to be a withdrew, but in the end the Cult of the Shadow managed destroy the skeleton army in a final battle just at the estate.

But at the end of the day, we have to realize we have something in common, we're all undead.

Post by Althaløs Sun Dec 04, 2011 10:20 pm

Greetings everyone. I thought I would add a little update to our recruitment thread. The following is information about our DK regime and its purpose^^ This is basically a rough sketch, with a IC and OOC part about whom they are. If there is anything wrong, or any questions, please feel free to tell Smile Hope it provides some interest Very Happy

The Knights of the Lingering Shadow

Origins:

"From the ashes of Lordaeron to the Frozen Wastes, we have lingered on..
Emerging from the sacred halls of the Nazahnen, we shall ride forth to remind those who believe that his shadow has been lifted, that death yet looms upon their realm. Gaze upon the horizon my brethren, for the Black Dawn approaches... And as chaos will ride, it is we who shall sieze the reins to unleash his judgement upon those whom dare to stand defiantly against his will!

We stand in a world swarmed by defectious lesser beings, mere insects whom are bound by virtues, laws, beliefs and faiths; segments of their own imagination which they blindly cling to, desperately ceasing to come at grips with the reality which reveals the inevitable certainity which awaits them. They induldge in mis-conceptions and illusions, unable to transcend their fragile mortal shells and thus fall victim to the frailty of their ideologies and hopes. Thus, for their flawed perception, their arrogance, their insolence and sacrilege... they will descend away into nothingness, never to grasp divinity, never to ascend into gods which condemn futile beings such as themselves.

We, his dark guardians, his descendants, his disciples, his unrelenting crusaders of the damned.. shall remind those whom wish to deny his judgement, that there is only ONE virtue, ONE law, ONE belief and faith; eternal servitude to the Dark Lord! And by this certainity, follows his invictus, unwavering judgement; Undeath.

Rest assured my brethren, the mortal realm shall be plunged into a new era; where blood shall pave the grounds, and the demeanors of anguish and torment shall sweep through the lands to reforge the world in his image! To create a bastion of darkness where death and decay shall veil every corner, and deliver any who dare to oppose the Dark Order into oblivion!

We are the ashes of the fallen, the relentless force of darkness which has once swept through countless lands and stroke terror into the hearts of those whom dared to stand against the might of Scourge! And yet, through their hollowed victories, the mortals naively believe that his reign has come to an end. That he no longer exists! But within the silence... the unfathomable... the shroud which envelopes this world... a shadow flickers... a shadow lingers... a remnant of the past which yet persists and strives.. It is by this shadow, that the fate of all mortals has been sealed... It is by this shadow, that the hands of death shall reach out and claim this world for its own... And it is by this shadow, that the world shall bow down and kneel before the Scourge yet again!

For we, the children of the damned, the Knights of the Lingering Shadow, shall deliver the Dark Lord's judgement, the Lingering Shadow's judgement, upon this world. Acceptance or not, his wrath shall be met, and his will shall be done. There is no choice, no free-will nor leanancy! For upon this eternity, or the next... all -will- kneel before the one, true, king!"

[A] Army of the Damned Ss1242

OOC:

- Based on Arthas's Scourge, the Knights of the Lingering Shadow is the military sector of AotD. Generally, AotD was given birth in Lordaeron due to the Plaguelands being the last resistance left from the original Scourge led by Arthas, basically the undeads who remained loyal to their dead master, and pious to his ideals and will. And from that resistance, AotD was formed, a lesser faction of undeads among the few that they're sole purpose is to continue their servitude to the Lich King (Arthas) and the Scourge, and reforge the great dark empire to what it once was (of course we know that OOCly it is impossible, but that is our IC goal anyway^^).

- And from that, a regime of Death Knights were formed, Death Knights whom are either second generation DKs of Lordaeron or Ebon Knights who have realised that it is only through the servitude of the Dark Lord that their purpose is fulfilled! Based upon multiple story lines and RP twists, AotD was led to Northrend, where it was intended to forge a elite brotherhood of DKs, based on the teachings and discipline of second generations DKs with the sole purpose of serving the true Lich King's will, and unleashing the judgement of the Damned upon any whom dare to oppose them!

- And so, from the frozen fields of Zul'Drak, within the halls of the Nazahnen - The Shadow Hold (a necropolis - fan lore since this necropolis in question is fan-made to create a nice background story), the Knights of the Lingering Shadow were formed; in which the Lingering Shadow is Arthas, whom these Scourge Death Knights believe that his presence and shadow yet looms upon Azeroth. Their sole purpose is to unquestionally and doubtlessly serve their Dark Master and the Dark Order that he has created. They are the unrelenting crusaders of the damned, the elite knights whom will charge forth to fulfill the will of their Dark Lord; Terror, domination, apocalypse.

- They represent the shadows of the past, the ashen riders whom are thought to be vanquished but yet exist to unleash death and decay upon those whom dare to stand defiantly against their Dark Lord.

- Thus, they are based upon the discipline, obediance, loyalty and piousness(to the Lich King Razz) of the second generation Death Knights, those whom remained faithful to their King from the second they were risen from the ashes of Lordaeron to this very moment! And so, they're IC leader, along with his lieutenants, are second generation Death Knights, fallen men of Lordaeron. They would make sure that any new individual, either 3rd or 2nd generation DK, would uphold the sacrament of the Dark Order.

"This Kingdom shall fall, and from the ashes shall arise a new order that will shake the very foundation of the world." - Arthas.

Incoming Possible Updates: (These are roughly ideas! They are still a work-in-progress^^)

- The unity of AotD, where the military sector will return to Lordaeron and unite with the Cult.
- The Black Dawn shall commence, where these remnants of the once-great empire will attempt to unleash their judgement upon Lordaeron yet again, to rewrite history and thus reforge the Scourge.

OOC:

Well, basically we will be returning to Lordaeron, mainly WPL to try to bring RP to the area and interact with several guilds and such Smile Of course, we are not trying to claim anything or such, and we would not force anyone by any means into RP, this would simply be an invetation to spur RP into those regions from small-scale battles, or cult activities to possible relatively big battles and such. To try to bring some dark vs. light RP. If anyone wishes to partake, they are welcome, anyone is Smile Sorry, for I know this is kind of pretty vague atm, but as I previosely mentioned, they are rough ideas, so we are still working on them and hope we will be able to put together something nice.

Hopefully if this is done well, it would turn out well. And if there is anything wrong, or if you have any questions, feel free to tell!

Thanks for reading!
