Another pestilence, Another battle.

Pierre's alchemy set beamed in the moonlight, unused, clean, ready. He was given a list of ingredients to this pestilence... He should be able to help them with the cure. They requested him to begin in the morning but he wouldn't wait. Adabella's sacrifice was still too fresh in his memory. He wouldn't let this pestillence cost such a toll. Not a second time.

He glanced at a rune he carved in the table before his alchemy set. The power of this grim mark appealed to him, like a sinister call to sacrifice health for the greater good. This time, he would be able to tap its powers in a more prudent, less potent manner. He hoped it would suffice.
He opened a vial of gromsblood and let the elixir flow in the lines of the carved rune. The liquid reflected what little moonlight peered through the creaking windows. He placed a hand on the mark, resolved and confident, and called to the essence of this spell: "Tenacity."

The Gromsblood turned brighter, till its own glow had grown stronger than the moonlight's reflection. Pierre clenched his teeth while the liquid burned itself in the skin of his palm. A faint stench of boiled gromsblood and burnt skin rose. Pierre exhaled and the glow disappeared from the Gromsblood.
He glanced at his hand and burried it in a glove, to protect the rune... and to hide what he had done. He took a glass of water and wetted his eyes. He'd be forced to do that regularly for one night and one day. He wiped the rune clean and lit another candle on his table.

Taking a seat, he lifted the note with the list of ingredients.

Firebloom... Could be countered by Icecap. Yet that showed no result before in extract form. It can thus not be a pure ingredient but was worked to give it a property. Frost Lotus... Hm. He glanced at his herb pouch. They had brough back a considerable amount he'd found during their failed search for Black Lotus.
He scribbled a few notes on a paper.
Fadeleaf... possibly.... Could explain why the fadeleaf treatment had limited effect. We should try Sungrass. Dreaming Glory too.
He made a single note on a paper.
Or is it Silverleaf? Hm. Could aid.. with the boils.
He added a few notes.
Silversage. Goldthorn could aid there.
Human eyes... This is an unknown factor to me. It should have been part in the magical aspect. Check the effect with Arthas' tears and blindweed. Combine with Khadgar's Whiskers. Test drops of Azshara's Veil extract.
Dwarven teeth... Hm. Could weaken that with Ancient Lichen or Peacebloom. Maybe steelbloom.
He continued his scribbling.
Rat Tails... This might increase the contageous behavior and have helped bind the magic to a carrier. Counters could be snake teeth, Adder's Tongue, Bird eyes...

He went over his notes and began a setup for distillation, crystallization and enfleurage. He dipped a finger in water and let a drop fall in each eye. It would become a long night.

With a final flicker, the candle's flame vanished in smoke. Sunlight started to creep through the window. Pierre finished his final label on a vial and began to write a letter.
