[A] The Shining Strand

The Shining Strand is the name of a beach that was one of the most beautiful sights in Lordaeron, glitterning in the warm morning light as the sun rose over Lordamere lake. A favourite haunt of lovers, artists and the site of many a joust. As Lordaeron fell it became a symbol of what was lost. Of beauty and joy taken. Of a haven fallen. A symbol of home.

It was around this symbol that the first High Diviner, Zylo the dwarf, and spymaster Otister of Silverpine rallied the order for the first time. Gathering brave men and women of all the races of the alliance for the goal of reclaiming the north from the scourge and the Horde. Using The Shining Strand as a symbol of what once was and what could be again. The order rapidly became on of the largest military forces of the Alliance and took part in many a campaign.

It was in the great northern campaign, a massive military offensive in hillsbrad that the order suffered heavy losses and it's back was broken. Only a shell lingered, but around it the Shining Strand rebuilt itself. Once more it grew, with Zylo leading the order. But when he died disaster loomed again, had it not been for the priestess Lini who took up the reins and led the Strand through the difficult time.

In time she put down the reins, handing them over to it's current High Diviner, Bishop Fortesgue Withertorpe. As the offensive in Northrend began, the order reshaped itself into the Shining Vengance, aspiring to take revenge on the tratior king. But as the Lich King lay dead, the order found itself without a purpose. Looking around it found the old banner, depicting the Shining Strand in the morning light. The hope of a reclaimed north was rekindled and with a defeated Lich King the greatest threat was eliminated.

The Shining Strand is striving once more to reclaim Lordaeron, to resettle the land and finally put the dead to rest. With great effort the order gathered supplies and volounteers for the difficult journey north and set out. Intent on reclaiming what once was and what could be again. Led by the banner of the pearl of the north in the morning light.

In Respect of those fallen and those that still live.

With Tenacity, for every time the order has been brought to it's knees it has risen again.

Out of Compassion, for those that suffer under the forsaken and those that seek to fill the hole of a home lost.

The Shining Strand is a guild that's about the reclamation and resettlement of the north and the opposition of the Forsaken. We are not a purely military order but rather a guild of resettlers with both a civilian and a military branch. Our goal is to bring alliance roleplaying to the north. We are RP first and pvp second, and aim to arrange both regular rp- and w-pvp events in Lordaeron. We are looking to cooperate with forsaken, gilnean and other guilds of the north (arathorians, other Lordaerani)

Themes: We aim to create a feeling of home, that everyone have to work hard just to feed themselves, of desperation and a hard life. Of pride and pure stubborness. Of waging a guerilla war against the forsaken. We will aim to create a fun and interesting atmosphere for military and non-military members alike, of a people working and struggling together.

Base: We aim to make Tyr's Hand our base. Due to it being phased and protected by argent Crusade npc however, we recommend holding potential w-pvp events outside of it though.

Recruitment policy: We're willing to take any race and any class. We need everyone we can get to have a hope of succeeding with our IC goals.
Currently, all that we require is a short IC interview for a applicant to be accepted. Just contact us either at our recruitment events or whisper one of the officers.

Branches:
The shining strand is divided into branches, and while all our members are stranders first, each and every one of us dedicate ourselves to a discipline withing the guild.

The regiment: General Dahian and captain Amaryl organises this one. It is the Strands primary and secondary offensive force. The training is hard and the expectations high. The fist of the order.

The settlers: The civilian branch, responsible for studies, diplomacy, hunting, maintenance of beasts, weapons, armours and supplies and much much more. The back of the order.

The clergy: The priests guiding and overseeing the populace. Assisting everyone and maintaining the spirit and hopes of the order. The heart and soul of the order.

The Shining Skybreakers: A griffon unit, dedicated to making fast and effective strikes at the enemy. Anyone capable of flying is welcomed into this group, regardless of their main discipline. This is something held at the side of the main focus. It requires hard discipline and the training is tough. But the Shining Skybreakers are the pride of the order.

Also, warlocks will now days receive a welcoming pipe instead of threats to be exorcise on the spot.

The wing commander and the flight captain, have seniority over the sergeant and captain, while in the Air or on Sky-back missions, on the ground its reversed.
every other branch has the rank of Militia during combat.

Don't wanna diss you or anything...

But you've got more ranks then members at the moment no?

we have more then 16 members plus alts that can choose a different path then their main. since its an IC rank structure, not an ooc one. (though yes not all ranks are filled but then again if they were there would be no room for growth) xD

And not all those are actually ranks in the guild structure in game, as ofcourse thats limited to 10 so some are sub-ranks of others, or event specific ranks, so to speak.
