The Old Republic - "Hope" Cinematic.

Felt it deserved it's own thread, and to double up as The Old Republic discussion.

If I wasn't already completley fucking sold on playing a Trooper once this hits, I sure as hell would be now.

that trailer was awesome, and it certainly made me want to play the republic more, but......nothing will bring my korribian ass from the Sith.

also, any fight with Duel of the Fates or Battle of the Heroes f**king rules:

I've never actually genuinely liked star wars.. But all that force stuff looked pretty epic from the councilor jedi chick.

I always found Star Wars and Star Trek or whatever really cheesy and a bit corny, to be (brutally) honest ... But oh well, the cinematic thing does look pretty cool :p.

However i'm looking forward to more gameplay. Cinematic -be- slick don't get me wrong but i'm at the point now where I want to see some meaty play-by-play until i'm convinced to check it out.

Star Wars Galaxies had some brilliant things it did right. Player housing and player built economies meaning that guilds or groups could literally feel like they colonised areas and made a real impact. It did much more veyr, very wrong. And the whole Holocron thing was shite.

Have to agree here. I was stuck between Agent and Trooper simply because the Sith get all the awesome British-accents but Troopers already looked awesome, this just rounds it out. Especially if the rumored "Medic" subclass (Since the originally rumored Smuggler one was ruled out) is unvieled.

I've had alot of trouble trying to find a EU-RP guild for this game, since 99% of them claim to be an 'RP' guild only to try and get members. I don't suppose anybody here would know of any or be interested in perhaps starting one up?

Despite the gratuitous levels of badassery the Sith had in this trailer.
The dudes with guns were bigger badasses.

The less lightsabers and general Jedi/Sith faggotry this game has, the more awesome it'll be.

Arhh Star wars... I've always wanted my Paladins to think as Obi wan or even better Yoda. Righteous beings indeed. I'll check it would sooner or later.

Well, it's a rumor and more so just my own musings. Sith Warrior got the Marauder and Juggernaut, and Smuggler got the Gunslinger and Scoundrel. A 'Demolitions' (Using BFG's over Blaster Rifles) and 'Medic' subclass seems to be a fairly likely choice.

I'd agree with some kind of Demolitions/BFG dude. But I would have thought maybe the jedi counsellor brought more of the "healing"kind of thing. If the trooper is a medic that would be cool.

I'd also be very intrested in a proper RP-EU guild for sure (the amount of Empire Bounty Hunters called Bobbi Futt and siths called Derth Mall and stuff is gonna be annoying either way).

And, for me, well. I'm pretty sure it will be the side of light and justice. FOR THE REPUBLIC!

I remember watching the trailer at the E3 EA stream, looked pretty fun. I look foward to Old Republic but I remain very sceptic until I see any in-game footage.

Answer: I will position my tr-*bzzztRULEOFCOOLOVERRIDE*- I WILL JUMP DOWN RIGHT IN THE THICK OF IT!

But yeah, excellent cinematic. Didn't really change my opinion on the game, though. (Was planning on giving it a go anyway...<.<)
