Description: Arenfel is physically redolent of an archetypal wizard. A tall, thin, warm-faced man with deeply engraved wrinkles and old aged eyes. He wears his colourless hair long and his beard spills down his torso like an avalanche of wiry snow. Although he was a physically domineering man in his younger years, the latent lifespan forced on him by a lifetime of high magic has drained his impressive physique and has supposedly left him frail or infirm.

Personality: Raised from childhood by the late Lord Serentyne to be a perfect example of humanity's arcane prowess, the young boy Arenfel - then named Joran - had little chance to experience a fulfilling childhood. A fact that may explain his whimsical almost carefree disposition in the present day. Arenfel is an outwardly warm, loving individual but may suffer from a slight case of bi-polar disorder. And suffers from post-traumatic stress, caused by his career as a Violet Warden.

To those he loves he will be as warm and nurturing as any matronly figure, but to those he perceives as his foe he is ruthless, calculating and lacking in conscience.

History: Arenfel was born with the name Joran and raised under the serpentine crest of House Serentyne. The first son of the family to an absent mother and a megalomaniac father. Who viewed his newborn as an extension of his property. Young Joran was subject to mental and physical abuse under his lord patriarch, until the age of eight where a forced training session left his father in a critical condition after an errant arcane bolt left his left arm in a paralyzed state.

In the confusion. Koren Redsworth - a member of Kaydren's advisory council - protested that the noble was incapable of caring for a magically adept child. And stole him away to the city of Dalaran.

Eventually re-naming himself Arenfel. He joined the Violet Wardens as a cadet and experienced a meteoric rise in his career until he was eventually assigned his own unit. Specializing in the dertainment and resolution of bizarre, unexplainable cases of magical misuse; most famous of which being the intercontinental smuggling of whales via large pocket dimensions.

Arenfel married twice. Once to a male half-elf artificer; who died of terminal illness three years after their wedding was authenticated. And again to the Kirin-Tor conjurer Catherine Clearwater; who died in battle acting as a reservist for the Stormwind Conjurers during the First War.

At some unknown point. Arenfel grew melancholic and dissatisfied with his life as a Warden. Causing him to retire and take up the mantle of a public educator. A role which he continues to perform.

Updated the profile a little, working on the history section as the old one felt slightly too mechanical and dour.

Is it possible to be that old?

By living over a Ley-line nexus most of his life, the life gets extended. (Ley-line nexus being Dalaran) It's kinda like how the elves got their life extended by living close to the Well of Eternity.

That explains a lot. My Helf will be kinda embarrassed when he sees a human who is older than him....

While I don't know too much about that being an exect fact I know of this least:

It's what I got told, but yes, I can't pinpoint it to an exact fact. Thanks for the part from the book! Not read that one yet.

Honestly I haven't either but might soon! It has a lot of magicy things in it, very interesting.
