First Two Weeks of MoP - Keep Roleplay alive!
We all want to level and do dungeons, but we also don't want to let RP die. So I suggest we declare some official RP evenings, so that people who want to stop doing PvE/PvP know which days to do it best. In a way, a chance to organize RP-times. This is not events, just a way of knowing when to drop out of MoP-frenzy knowing that there might be others like you.
It is not mandatory, of course. But at least I will put it in the guild's calendar

Re: First Two Weeks of MoP - Keep Roleplay alive!
To be honest, I don't think I will be wanting to role-play. I mean, you're right, I do want to level and do dungeons, I'll have to level a character from 1 to 90 in order to be able to role-play a pandaren in Pandaria for Pete's sake!
But what's wrong with that? Once everybody is well and settled, people will want to role-play, inspired by all the new content they just cleared.
I'm sorry but I don't really see the point in this. If people want to role-play, they'll role-play, and if not, they won't...?
I...I am just confused by why this is necessary, that's all. Don't let that bum you out, though. Have fun!

Gotta agree with Thelos. I'll be hammering the levelling and dungeons when MoP hits, then will be doing PvP at top level till I get a decent set of gear so that I can raid find and thenRP whilst I'm levelling a monk on the side.
Good luck, though!

I don't know about you others, but personally I get bored quite easily by leveling and when I'm bored I want RP, badly. I'll try to be on this server on the scheduled nights for some RP.
Re: First Two Weeks of MoP - Keep Roleplay alive!
Well, I won't turn it away if I run into some random RP in pandaland

I've encountered a fair amount of RP in Pandaria, including wondering what on earth the "Sha" is xD it's been pretty fun, we even tried acting out someone got posessed by it.. but that was a funny disaster, the Forsaken ended up jumping off a cliff... to "Cure it" XD

Sri-La village, otherwise generally wherever it takes you, I even met a Shatterskull in a cave who helped me IC while I was doing a quest too x3 I'm really enjoying Pandaria!

I cant remember the name of the first neutral village, but my guild and some others RPed a barfight there today as well with the alliance as targets (they emoted in reply to us, was funny) , we found out you could fight in there "the Drunken har-somethin'" I'm enjoying it in Pandaria, I just hope the Kor'Kron will be taken seriously, if not then we have another plan to fall upon.
Re: First Two Weeks of MoP - Keep Roleplay alive!
They will be taken seriously if you play them right. ANYWAY.
My guild has a little "What's your character doing IC in pandaria while you level OOC" thread, perhaps one like that would be fun here too?

A lot of people sure are IC in pandaria, while it's lorewise not actually known or visited by the commoners yet.
Anyhow.

You can go to pandaria, but lorewise only the initial strike-team that Varian and Garrosh have sent are there. Basically, going there ICly is OK but you've gotta be aware that by going there your char can't be a normal commoner or lowlife criminal or what have you, you're there as a soldier of the Alliance or Horde.

Re: First Two Weeks of MoP - Keep Roleplay alive!
And they are!
Jahzeem is a veteran-witch-doctor-turned-zombie that would jump at the opportunity for a good fight, Delidah is a crazy militant garrosh-fangirl that's just itching to test out her own brand of mana-bombs, and Scuzy... Well. She's still in Quel'thalas, defending the safety of Silvermoon city. But who knows how long that will last?
And, if you want to play a commoner in Pandaria, you can be someone that heard "the rumors", chartered a small-ass boat and set off to the shores of Pandaria to find new fame & fortune, and grow giant turnips or whatever.

Re: First Two Weeks of MoP - Keep Roleplay alive!
Spent the time in Wandering Isle RPing with my Darkmoon Turtle Pet during the questing "Wow! Can you believe it, turtle? Our very own adventure! I'm scared!" and the likes, just to keep the general mood of adventuring alive. It did get me some funny looks, sure, but I didn't really mind.

There are no "rumors" tho. The initial strike team hasn't left Pandaria, the only ones who actually know of it's existance right now are the very, very high ups and the strike teams themselves, which- already said- haven't actually left Pandaria.erwtenpeller wrote:And they are!

Claiming there'd be rumors about it, is actually metagaming, since you're giving your character information they would not otherwise be able to attain through other means.
Just because it suits your purposes, doesn't make it correct.

"The more people know a secret, the less the chance that it remains a secret." At least all thehHigh rank officers of the Army, if not the whole Army knows of the new continent. Claiming that nobody told about it or even just hinted at it is -extremely- non-believable.There are no "rumors" tho. I agree that people who want to be there IC can't be commoners or such, but claiming that an entire continent just discovered, whose inhabitants even are perfectly visible in the streets and that it's a month they have their place in the city outskirts, is not known is absurd. Even considering another thing. Some of our chars are, lore-wise, the heroes who killed Deathwing(and even down through all the previous expansions, all the other baddies). Possible that nobody asks him/herself where the hero he honored months ago has gone?

Re: First Two Weeks of MoP - Keep Roleplay alive!
Possible that most of the army knows, however I would be very, very surprised if it wasn't a non-disclosure agreement on the knowledge for now.
And did I state anywhere that it was completely impossible to get to Pandaria? Anyone part of the strike teams would obviously be there. They're there for work, not sightseeing.
So I imagine anyone spilling the beans would be trialed for treason until said is lifted.
The heroes there would most likely also have this applied to them.

You know what? Maybe I don't want to be "right".
If I want to role play in the exciting expansion content, I damn well will.
