Ezlbag: I dunno if you are asking really, or that's rhetorical, or a joke... but Odinism is very prevalent in White Supremacist / Neo-Nazi groups now. Though Neo-Nazism isn't "the same" as National Socialist ideology there has been long held belief that the hierachy of the Nazi's was involved in some kind of Volkish Mysticism.
It's questionable how far the involvement went. The push for absolute power did take the Nazi's to try to assimilate the Christian church(es), but that doesn't mean they tried to strip power to make some kind of Nazi-Odin World Tree Church or something. People like Hess and others had links to the Thule Society (another Germanic/Neo-Pagan group), but other members of the same society were persecuted.
Much of the "truth" is supposition and tripe from books and films (where would Henry Walton Jones Jnr be without Rene Emile Belloq and the Third Reich?!). Some of it is anti-Nazi propaganda (they're Godless heathens, it's ok to kill them!). Some might be true, about identity, and power.
There's a quote from Tolkien, about the belief and view that the Nazi and Hitler's (supposed) interest the occult and Germanic/Nordic myth has had, where he calls Hitler a ruddy little ignoramus. Because whatever the truth, the very touch or name of Hitler and the Nazis poisons something which is interesting and beautiful.
