This is either going to be disasterous or fantastic for role-play.

Disasterous if this means they're closing some of the doors, like for example in Shado-pan Monestary.

Fantstic if they'll keep the doors open, meaning it'll be nice and quiet without all of the traffic that a capital city gets while still offering all of its splendor for role-play.

I've read here and there that Karabor and Bladespire are still going to be full-fledged cities, they're just not going to be the main hubs of the factions.

It's a decision made to support the narrative. The story of WoD is supposed to be about the horde and the alliance coming to a new savage world, amassing their armies and fighting a new foe on their turf. Building new fortresses instead of taking over ones that where already there fits that narrative better.

If that's the case, then this is good news for role-play.

Seems like lots of people are upset about it though, and for good reason. Karabor in particular is looking amazing. The Shrines were already a dissapointment and these hubs in Ashran are looking even worse. People want a pretty place to AFK. Ashran isn't going to be that pretty place.

I don't think we can properly judge that yet, it's not exactly finished. If the settlements end up anything like Lion's Landing and then I think it'll be alright, right?

And we'll have our garrisons, of course!

There's no way in hell that a military camp on some island is going to even get close to the gravitas of Karabor and to a lesser extent Bladespire, even if they end up being better versions of the camps in Krasarang.

No matter how they spin this one, it's a PR blunder. People were promised something they now feel is being denied to them. Twitter is not the way they should have communicated such a bomb of a message. Couldn't they have forseen this would hit a nerve with many people?

Ofcourse they have forseen this, because everything blizzard says hits a nerve with many people.

Bladespire would've been a bland as shit faction hub, just saying.

It's also really not a big deal. Literally the only difference from Karabor before to Karabor now is that it no longer has portals to the old world (and there will no longer be a ton of AFKing OOCers).

This is good news for RPers. We now have Karabor largely for ourselves.

It really isn't. It's a huge rock with a big room below a smaller room.

These videos contain SPOILERS

I'd like to point out a few things:

1) Damage seems to be less "spikey" and more sustained, allowing healers to prioritize healing
2) Boss mechanics aren't maybe too original, but they seem to be way more demanding than we're used to (I can't wait to see some of those bosses in heroic mode)
3) Some parts of these dungeons look AMAZING, and it's just an alpha version

I wouldn't expect the dungeons to change prior to release. What you see there is likely the finished product (more or less). I haven't watched the videos  because I want to see the dungeons on my own.

Raid tear?

As in, the tears of raiders?

As in Algalon drinks on the tears of raiders...?

I don't get it either.

Blizzard often says they can't work on something because otherwise they'd have to scrap a raid tier, a lot of people rage about this ([You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]) and so Blizzard decided to make fun of them with this easter egg

Aaaaaaaah...Right. Tear is in tier. Gotcha.

Heh. That's actually pretty funny, to get the double meaning in there.

Man, those where a loooooot of Shadowmoon screenshots. Here are my favorites:

NPCs doing stuff!

From a lot of these screenshots it appears the lifeless computer characters around us will do a little more then you stand around and gaze upon our magnificent shiny armors.

Here we see some rangers faffing about:

Here we see a high poly draenei schooling some low-poly offspring:

Here we see an old lady selling some frogs.:

Here we see some Draenei gazing up at the stars:

Hakaam is a naughty boy that farts in class:

A soul priestess fraternizing with the enemy:

Here we see a Draenei making some fairy dragons jump through hoops. what a dick:

Karabor and the other Draenei stuff looks amazing and unique!

Blizzard has outdone itself with the art direction on this stuff. It looks amazing, strong but fragile at the same time, and the way statues are stylized really gets my jimmy going.

Karabor-by-the-sea:

What I assume is the grand entrance of Karabor:

An amazing theater:

Draenei statues are my new favorite thing:

The walls of Karabor-- Seems like a well defended Monastery:

...But not well defended enough:

This shrine just looks so peacefull and cute:

Some more familiar looking designs:

This outlook illustrates the best what I mean with fragile, but powerful. It's like lace made out of concrete:

MUSHROOOOOOOMMMSSSSSS!!!:

Some other stuff that also looks cool.

Features orcs...

This swirly thing is probably up to no good but looks very pretty:

Where better to put a moonwell then shadowmoon valley?:

I don't know where this is but I want to live there:

ORCS!:

...Lots of orcs:

Orcs like meat: CONFIRMED:

I really hope the final phase of Karabor that we're left to role-play with isn't going to be too destroyed. There are a lot of screenshots in there about pain and suffering, rampaging orcs and big bombs.

I'm not one for politics and other such talks in RP (got my fair share of those back in the 2GE days...) but that looks pretty potential for that. Could also be used for something more light-hearted, I suppose, but it looks maybe a bit too...important for that kind of show, for the lack of a better term.
