Soul Weave. Shadowrénds player made magic

I have been asked and asked and nagged and nagged so here it is people the OOC thread for my in game Player made magic lore named Soul weave. This is not here for people to randomly come up and cry and moan about the lore of it.. i have done this thread becuase people want me to fully perfect the lore and have it public for people to understand it for ic when my guild Fully decides to attack. There is two people in particular that i have made this thread for Drustai and Timna. as they both are wishing to have the problem around my player made rp resolved. I want to make something rather clear though. I dont want it to be tossed aside and people telling me its not Right and we wont have it here, This rp has been a big part of my time on wow Since my time on Earthen Ring and now here. I will appreciate you all pitching in and we can get this rp public and without flaws

((i will appologie about my spelling though im not the best due to irl school problems so bare with me))

I ill start the first few ideas behind it and the uses of it once i have finished my In game Book about it then i will make it a GHI item and link the import code here for people to read the rp inside th book ooc the book is not optainable without contact from a member of the court of souls.
Thank you for reading the Main part of this thread and i will be back with a in detail blog about the Soul weave.

*strokes beard*

Interesting... This tells us absolutely nothing! ...Yet!

Looking forward to reading it. Will you take and/or appreciate feedback to more smoothly integrate your "Soul Weave" into existing lore, or do you want to be the complete lord and master of this creation, and expect the community to just accept it as Defias Canon?

Great! I think you will find people will welcome RP with your guild much more easily when they have access to your guild information on the forums, and understand what they are up against.

Welcome to the community. Smile

EDIT: Ahem. If you could just put that import code in [spoiler] brackets, that's be great... yeah.

When you make a post through clicking the "Post Reply" botton instead of quick reply, it will give you the option to disable smileys by ticking the "Disable Smileys in this post" box.

Even better would be to put the whole thing in [code] brackets, which not only disables smileys, but nicely differentiates it from a normal post. Right now it just looks weird to have that big ball of gibberish up there.

There's alot of things that I find strange or not properly balanced with your creation. I'll bring a few things up for your consideration, feel free to use this as a way to improve and balance your "soul-weaving"

1. Necromancy is not fel based.
2. The blade has no described weaknesses, no offense but I think that's mandatory when you make your own spells/rituals to some extent at the very least.
3. A blade making a death knight in essence living rather then undead seems... well like something that would be used by most if not all death knights and forsaken if it existed.
4. The making of the blade itself is not very detailed, two people going to the felwood (or a similar place) to channel a little energy into a blade seems rather simple considering the amount of functions the blade has.
5. The blade must be thrown into mount doom... I mean a frostfire forge to be destroyed? With the sheild ability you described it makes the wielder invincible... yet it cant be destroyed (if you dont throw it into the fires mount doom).
6. While I dont have the right to have any say in your backstory the part that implies a server transfer was an actual IC happening makes me facepalm.
7. Neither of the abilities implies any weaknesses at all and is in my most humble opinion not well designed, especially spells that makes the character invincible *cough* shield *cough*
8. There's prolly alot more but I believe I have complained enough for one day.

1. Ok first of all.. I call apon what Drustia has told me That Fel made necromancey so it dose work.
2. the blade has weakness but i dont put it in the book because its shadowrend Personal Grimore if some one got there hand on the book well they can kill him ooc i will inform of weaknesses on here
3. The essance of living is becuase of harvesting souls stealing in a way there life force.
4. the making of the blade is to be made alittle more harder at the time i was rather slow with rp terms and the book will be edited acordingly.
5. Yes yes.. rather Clesay for the sword but the fasion the main blades of the weave crators used to forges there to make the swords so its only fit i make it so its a Long jorney to destroy the blades.
6. Indeed the idea of a IC realm transfer is... rather lore rape but the idea of it is there was two time streams and shadow was dragged though at his death on ER to DB if this is to much we will attend to that on a later date.
7. The weakness of soul weave is the weilders need to use it and the fact there is a number count on how meny he can use without problems accureing. it will be explained more in due time once me and The main helpers sort out the ideas.
8. Its ok i exspect this thread to go on for a LONG time.

Ok ill adress the ones given and please do continue im having a blast Smile

It's like... Multiple dimentions, maan, free your mind.

And I actually think I may have read a blizzard post about every RP realm being it's own slight variation on warcraft lore, which is an approach I very much adore. Warcraft Multiverse, Oh-ho-ho!

Braiden wrote:1. Necromancy is not fel based.

Necromancy isn't anything "based". It is the act of manipulating life energies through magic, which has been done through arcane and shadow mostly, but it is not un-imaginable it could be done through fel. So necromancy through fel energies could be a thing.

Ave wrote:Death knights arent fel users either.

It is feasible that a death knight could manipulate fel energies, but being a death knight has nothing to do with fel.

Last time Thelos implied that to Drustai in character he nearly got chucked off a balcony.

I can't imagine that Drustai would ever say that Fel made Necromancy, either OOC or IC. While it is true that behind the Scourge there is Kil'Jaeden with his diabolical scheming, Necromancy taken on its own is not a product of Fel. It has been around in places where Fel has not reached, though Demons and their minions certain fancy it and often employ it in their evil schemes!

Not only Drustai saying this to me ooc i also see its right from the Warcraft lore is it not that the Dreadlords controled and made most of the undead from Stratlome and Ner Zul was demonic in Creation?

That necromancy has (some/most of) it's origins in the burning legion does not mean that necromancy uses fel magic.
Necromancers twist arcane magic to manipulate the power of death.
And while fel magic is a "branch" of arcane magic, necromantic energies and fel energies as they are displayed ingame aren't exactly right next to each other on the magical energy spectrum.

Fel and Necromancy are like Fire and Frost with maybe a little more overlap. Most notable, fel is arcane magic corrupted by demon blood and necromancy doesn't requrie demon involvement.

Kil'Jaeden by no means made Ner'zhul undead. He only tormented him and stripped his soul of body. I don't recall Kil'Jaeden bestowing him any powers, only dictacting him to serve them from Northrend.

Necromancy is magic, anyone can use magic, Dreadlord or human. Doesn't mean it was human made, or demon made.

Yub.

But we're going into details now.

The point is that Fel-based or fel-augmented necromancy is something that could very well exist.

I think she did say something along the lines of it OOCly. I'm not 100% sure though. . . I was behind Shadow at the time IRL when they were speaking of it, and I was invited to look at the chat from over his shoulder.

My memory is not overly-accurate however, due to it being a while back.
